00:00Hello there. It's a very warm and humid weekend to come for many of us, all due to
00:05the way low pressure and high pressure is set in relation to the UK. So we've got low
00:09pressure to the northwest, high pressure in the southeast. Between that, feeding in these
00:13very hot and humid southwesterly winds stretching across all areas of the UK. So it will be
00:19quite a sticky couple of days to come. In the northwest, that low pressure could provide
00:24a few outbreaks of rain for parts of Scotland. Maybe the odd sharp shower across Aberdeenshire.
00:28You might get the isolated shower for Northern Ireland as well. But the vast majority of
00:32us will be staying dry throughout the afternoon and that cloud breaking up a touch to allow
00:36some sunny or at least bright spells. The best of the prolonged sunshine probably across
00:41southern areas of England. So quite a nice day if you are out at Glastonbury. In those
00:46sunnier spots, temperatures widely climbing into the mid-twenties of Celsius for many
00:51of us, probably peaking around 27, 28 degrees Celsius in parts of eastern and southeast
00:56England. Into this evening, the cloud will continue to break up even further, allowing
01:01for that late evening sunshine to develop. And generally, most of us will stay dry throughout
01:05the night with some clear spells. Parts of the western hours seeing a glancing blow of
01:10some heavy showers and then into the early hours of Sunday morning, we'll start to see
01:14some rain pushing to the far west of Northern Ireland as well. But for all of us with those
01:19southerly winds, it is going to be a rather warm and humid muggy night. Temperatures in
01:24many towns and cities are only up in at least 18 degrees Celsius. We might actually get
01:29close to a tropical night, which is where a location doesn't drop below 20 degrees Celsius.
01:35So really quite a warm and humid start to Sunday morning. It will be a bright one, though,
01:41across England, Wales and Scotland. But increasingly, we're going to watch as this band of rain pushes
01:46in from the west. So some heavy outbreaks of rain for Northern Ireland, then into Scotland,
01:50Wales and Northern England. Later on, there is a chance of some thunderstorms developing
01:54across parts of eastern England up into eastern Scotland and Orkney as that band of rain pushes
01:59through. Some of those thunderstorms will certainly be hit and miss. Not everyone will
02:03see them, but where they do occur, they'll provide some torrential downpours of rain,
02:07perhaps some localised flooding as well. Frequent lightning and hail is also possible. So do
02:13just start taking care if you are travelling around here tomorrow. Further towards the
02:17south, though, through Wales, central southern areas of England, likely staying drier and
02:22still holding on to a lot of that heat, climbing to highs of 30, 31 degrees Celsius in parts
02:28of southeastern areas of England. Further towards the west, though, you'll start to
02:33see the temperatures just beginning to dip down a touch. Highs of 20, 21 degrees Celsius
02:38across parts of Aberdeen and western Scotland. That's because our winds are shifting direction
02:43to a bit of a westerly wind feeding in some slightly fresher air. So there'll still be
02:49some showers around, but not quite as hot and humid into the afternoon here for Northern
02:53Ireland, western Scotland. And increasingly, as we head into Sunday evening, that slightly
02:58fresher air is going to push its way across the rest of the UK as well. Behind this band
03:03of rain will take a bit of time to clear its way off. Far north eastern areas of Scotland
03:07will be quite windy across parts of Orkney, Shetland, as it does clear its way through,
03:11but some clear spells developing into Sunday evening. And again, that slightly fresher
03:15feel of things will make Sunday night just that bit more comfortable for sleeping for
03:19many of us. As we head into the new working week, that fresher air is staying with us
03:25largely, but it also is opening up the doors to a slightly more unsettled regime. So there
03:29will be showers, longer spells of rain as we head towards the middle part of the week.
03:34But by day, those temperatures will be down towards high teens, if not low to mid 20s
03:39across southern areas of England. Still the potential that we have some humid nights to
03:44come, but generally not feeling as muggy during the day. We'll keep you up to date with the
03:49full forecast as we head into the new working week, and you can stay up to date across all
03:53of our social media channels. And we'll be back with you here very shortly. Bye bye.
