00:00Hello there and welcome to your latest updates from the Met Office. It's been a
00:04fine and bright start to the weekend for many of us. The latest satellite image
00:08shows some of the higher base clouds that's just making the sunshine a bit
00:12hazier. We do also have outbreaks of rain pushing into northwest Scotland in
00:17particular and these will continue to come and go over the course of Saturday
00:21afternoon filtering into other western areas as well. Further south and east
00:27some sunny intervals coming through and in that sunshine it will feel pleasantly
00:31warm with highs of 21 degrees. It is also worth noting that UV levels are high so
00:37if you are out and about in the sunshine then do protect your skin. The cloud
00:42across Scotland and northwestern areas just making it feel that bit cooler and
00:46the rain will continue into Saturday evening turning more persistent at times
00:50as well with breezy conditions. The clearer skies across England will allow
00:55for some mist and fog patches to form and rural spots potentially turning a
01:00bit chillier down to mid single figures but towns and cities overall holding up
01:04around 10 degrees as we move into Sunday morning. Sunday will be a relatively
01:09similar day with that northwest southeast split continuing so some good
01:14sunshine coming through over southeast England whereas we'll see the rain
01:19continuing across northwestern areas turning a bit more showery into the
01:23afternoon with a potential for those to be heavy at times with the odd rumble of
01:27thunder. Temperatures holding back once again underneath the clouds and rain
01:31further northwest but in that sunshine in the southeast temperatures climbing
01:36even further than Saturday with highs of 24 degrees. It is a case though if you
01:41are on the southeast to make the most of it through the weekend as these
01:44unsettled conditions will spread more widely across the UK into next week. To
01:49keep up to date with all of that then do make sure to stay following us on
01:54social media and we'll see you again here soon.
