00:00Hello, it was another fine day of weather across the UK on Friday, with lots of sunshine.
00:05And that fine dry and settled weather looks set to continue throughout this weekend and
00:09into next week. Here's the reason why. High pressure, this is what's affected our weather
00:12throughout this working week, and it's not going anywhere fast. It continues to affect
00:16us throughout this weekend into the early part of next week as well. So lots more sunshine
00:20to come, some cloud at times towards the east coast, but no real signs just yet of any notable
00:25rainfall.
00:27Back to Friday evening and overnight, then we end the working week on a fine note, dry
00:31for all areas, lots of late sunshine, typically across central and western parts. But through
00:35the night, we'll see some low cloud developing across parts of England, Wales and Scotland,
00:40and one or two mist and fog patches developing as well. But under those clear skies, it will
00:43turn fairly chilly, temperatures widely falling into single figures. In some rural spots,
00:47particularly across northern England, we could see temperatures falling fairly close to freezing,
00:51so a cold end to the night here. But we do get off to another dry start on Saturday morning.
00:56Lots of sunshine from the word go for many areas, much of that cloud will lift up and
00:59break and that will mean by the afternoon it's a fine picture across the board with
01:03lots of sunshine to come. A bit of patchy cloud possible across some southeastern areas
01:07and across the far north of Scotland, here we see some thicker cloud as well. And here
01:10will be quite cool, just 13 degrees there for Orkney and Shetland. But elsewhere, if
01:15anything, a warmer day compared to Friday, so temperatures widely reaching 20 to 23 degrees,
01:20although once again, a little bit cooler towards that North Sea coast. As we head through the
01:25rest of Saturday into the evening and overnight, then it's more of the same way. We end Saturday
01:28on a dry note, lots of late sunshine once again. We will again see one or two mist and
01:33fog patches, but through the night we see thick clouds spreading across much of northeast
01:36Scotland and eastern and central parts of England as well. Now here, temperatures will
01:41be quite slow, but generally it's another fairly cool night, temperatures once again
01:45falling into single figures. So we get off to a bit of an east west split to the day
01:49on Sunday. Quite a lot of cloud first thing across eastern Scotland, eastern England as
01:53well. But sunshine from the word go further towards the west. Any cloud should lift and
01:58break as we head through Sunday. So by the afternoon is a fine picture for the vast majority.
02:02Lots of sunshine to come, a bit of patchy cloud at times across Scotland and Northern
02:06Ireland. And once again, down that North Sea coast, we could see a bit of mistiness and
02:10thicker cloud at times. But as I said, for the vast majority, it's fine, dry, sunny and
02:14warm. Even across western Scotland and Northern Ireland, we can see highs of 21 or 22. Again,
02:19England and Wales could see 22 or 23 degrees. So again, in that sunshine, it will feel warm.
02:25So as I said, it's a fine weekend of weather to come across the UK. Once again, if you
02:28want more detail, you can always follow us on social media and I'll see you again soon.
