00:00Hi there. A fine day for many but one significant exception is the south east where it started
00:06wet and it will continue to be wet through the rest of Friday. You can see the heavy
00:11rain that covers east Anglia, much of the south east, into parts of Lincolnshire as
00:16well. Thunderstorms over the near continent, there's a small chance that these could graze
00:21the far south east but primarily it's outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, lingering into the
00:27afternoon. Elsewhere, cloudy skies for much of Scotland and Northern Ireland, a few showers
00:31here but mainly dry and then this slice of sunshine in between the two areas of cloud
00:37and feeling pleasant in the sunshine, 21 Celsius or so. Now the rain continues for a time in
00:43east Anglia and the south east during the evening but eventually it fizzles out overnight,
00:47it becomes confined to the far east of England, the cloud edges away slowly and there'll be
00:52thicker cloud at times for western Scotland as well as Northern Ireland, a few spots of
00:56rain here. But in between we continue to see that slice of clearer air and where we
01:02get that with light winds temperatures will fall into the single figures. A cool night
01:05to come and a few mist and fog patches, nothing particularly dense or long lasting as we start
01:12off Saturday. Weather fronts to the west on Saturday, this front clearing and so a much
01:18brighter day to come for the east with plenty of sunshine appearing as the cloud eventually
01:23disappears from east Anglia and the south east. Then the cloud slowly pushes into western
01:29areas so for western Scotland, Northern Ireland, west Wales and the south west, increasingly
01:35cloudy through the day on Saturday. A few spots of rain associated with this but the
01:39heaviest showers expected over central and northern Scotland and Northern Ireland as
01:44well, some sharp downpours here. But where we get sunny spells elsewhere, I think a warmer
01:49day for many, could even get 26 degrees somewhere in east Anglia and the south east. Now we
01:55keep the clear skies across central and eastern parts of the UK into Saturday night but you
02:00can see the thicker cloud there across west Wales, parts of Cornwall, perhaps Devon later
02:04bringing some outbreaks of rain and the showers in Scotland and Northern Ireland continuing
02:10for a time as well. But essentially through the weekend, many places are fine with warm
02:17and sunny spells expected for much of the time. Follow us on social media and we'll
02:21keep you fully updated on these channels. Bye bye.
