00:00Hi there and welcome to the latest update from the Met Office. There will be a lot of
00:04showers around during the rest of Friday, brought in on a keen north-westerly breeze
00:09but also some bright spells or even some sunshine out there, particularly towards the far south-east
00:15and increasingly central and northern Scotland. A few heavier showers early in the day but
00:19they're easing away for the rest of the afternoon. In between a lot of cloud, showers continuing
00:25to feed in particularly towards north-western coasts on that brisk wind which will be strong
00:30in the north and down this east coast. So that's going to make it feel cool, temperatures
00:34of 12-15C, not far from average for the time of year having said that. Into the evening
00:40any showers across central and eastern areas tend to die away but further showers will
00:44affect western shores and one or two will make their way further inland. But on the
00:49whole, light winds overnight and with some clear spells around, temperatures will drop
00:55away. We're looking at generally below 5C in many places and perhaps as low as minus
01:013 or minus 4C for some sheltered parts of Scotland. So a frost in places as we start
01:06off the weekend, a few mist and fog patches possible particularly towards the south-east
01:10but a bright start for many. Once any mist and fog lifts, the cloud tends to build from
01:16the west. For much of the country, Saturday is looking largely dry at least until later
01:21in the afternoon. One or two light showers into the west and the south but on the whole
01:26a relatively quiet day. But later the wind picks up in the west and some outbreaks of
01:31rain push into Northern Ireland and Western Scotland. Of course it's not going to feel
01:35very pleasant where this happens but elsewhere with that slight change in wind direction,
01:40temperatures up a degree or so compared to Friday. Now we keep some sunshine there late
01:45in the afternoon for eastern parts of England, southern areas. But on the whole a cloudy
01:49picture as we end Saturday and the rain across Northern Ireland, Western Scotland turning
01:53more persistent particularly for western and south-west Scotland where on Saturday night
01:58there could be some particularly heavy rainfall and by Sunday morning there is the risk in
02:03one or two spots of some impacts from that rain. We'll keep you updated on that of course
02:07and you can follow those updates on social media. Bye bye.
