00:00Hello again and welcome to your latest weather forecast from the Met Office.
00:04It's a day for staying indoors for many of us on Sunday.
00:07Lots of heavy rain in the forecast and it's all because of this area of low pressure tracking towards the UK
00:12brought about by a powerful jet stream coming in from the Atlantic
00:15and this area of low pressure will move north-eastwards across the UK on Sunday
00:19followed by further showers or longer spells of rain in many places through the new working week.
00:24Back to Saturday evening and it's quite a cloudy picture out there for many of us
00:28some further outbreaks of rain in places.
00:30Up towards northern parts of Scotland a few clearer slots in the cloud here
00:34may allow temperatures to briefly get down quite close to freezing
00:37but for the vast majority of us a mild picture overnight tonight
00:41no issues with any frost and turning increasingly wet across Wales and the south-west later in the night
00:46with a yellow rainfall warning in place across south Wales on Sunday.
00:50This area of rain will work its way north-eastwards across all parts of England and Wales through the day on Sunday
00:55fringing into southern and central Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland.
00:58The best of any brightness will be across northern Scotland but here a few showers are possible.
01:03Quite a mild picture for all areas but offset by some pretty strong winds
01:07particularly in southern parts of England with gales in exposed coastal areas.
01:11The rain tracks its way eastwards across England and Wales on Sunday evening
01:15something a bit drier developing particularly in the north and west but still a few showers around
01:20and it stays showery into Monday too.
01:22Some sunny spells in between but some heavy showers particularly in the south.
