00:00Hello and welcome to the latest national weather forecast from the Met Office. It's been another
00:05fine day across much of the UK and there will be more spring sunshine to come during the
00:10rest of the week. High pressure close to the east then becomes increasingly centred over
00:15the UK from Wednesday into Thursday and Friday and that high pressure isn't going anywhere
00:22for the foreseeable so for the next seven days at least it's going to continue to bring
00:26plenty of warm sunshine. Having said that, variable amounts of cloud will drift across
00:33the country through the evening and overnight, initially from the west and then another area
00:37of medium cloud coming up from the south. Now, any of these medium level clouds could
00:43bring a few light showers but, well, for the vast majority it's a dry night so there will
00:49be clear spells on and off. The clearest sky is northern Scotland where temperatures could
00:53dip to minus three Celsius but where we've got the cloudier conditions it's going to
00:58be frost free. A fresh start or a chilly start in place is on Tuesday morning. You'll see
01:03that cloud across central areas moving south and a few spots of rain associated with it
01:08but it tends to fizzle away by the afternoon, perhaps reforming to give a few showers across
01:14northern England and southern Scotland later in the day. But otherwise, away from that
01:18area, plenty of sunshine and in western parts a sunnier day compared to Monday. Temperatures
01:23reaching 16 to 18 Celsius quite widely from central Scotland down to the south of England
01:29could see 19 to 20 Celsius in London or Cambridge for example. The far north, Shetland, staying
01:36cold with a brisk breeze off the North Sea but for most those temperatures are well above
01:41average for the time of year. Into the evening then and clear skies for the vast majority
01:45and as a result we'll see another chilly start to Wednesday. I think temperatures in
01:51urban areas, low single figures, in the countryside dipping just below freezing. So a touch of
01:56frost around, a few fog patches in places predominantly northeast and eastern England
02:02but that high pressure, well keeping things fine, keeping weather fronts at bay for the
02:06time being and Wednesday looks like a much more extensively sunny day once any of those
02:11fog patches have lifted. Up and down the country it looks like blue skies will prevail.
02:17Just a few shower clouds perhaps bubbling up across east Anglia and the southeast by
02:23the end of the afternoon. So the odd shower is possible here but really the exception
02:29rather than the rule. For the vast majority it's sunny and it's warm again, 19 Celsius
02:34the top temperature, 17 for Glasgow, 15 for Aberdeen. Into Wednesday evening then we keep
02:40the clear skies, we keep the sunshine and then Thursday is looking like another widely
02:46fine day, just a bit more cloud for north and north-west Scotland. Much more on social media, bye bye.
