04 April - National weather forecast presented by Dan Stroud
Transcript
00:00Hello, it's been a cold but dry start to April, however a change is afoot with milder
00:05Atlantic air from the north-west already arriving. And those milder conditions are already making
00:12their presence felt across parts of Scotland in the form of heavy and persistent rain.
00:18And that rain will continue to sink south overnight tonight and into Monday morning,
00:24and those winds also strengthening from the south and the west. A milder night with temperatures
00:29into mid-single figures, so no frost for any of us to worry about.
00:35So that band of cloud and rain continues to sink south Monday morning, and in its wake
00:40remaining rather cloudy, and those winds just easing back a little bit but still remaining
00:44rather gusty. A warmer day right the way across the country with highs of 14 and 15 across
00:52the south. And into Monday evening, so remaining rather cloudy with further outbreaks of rain,
01:00especially across western hills, and some of that rain rather persistent at times.
01:05And looking at the outlook period, so continuing unsettled Tuesday and Wednesday with further
01:10outbreaks of rain here and there, and that cold weather, well it's never too far away
01:15and may return later in the week. Thank you for listening, and please check
01:19our social media channels for the latest updates. Bye for now.
