19 April - National weather forecast presented by Dan Stroud.
Transcript
00:00Hello, April showers bring forth May flowers and that is certainly the order of the day
00:06for many of us on Tuesday, although it will feel slightly cooler with slightly fresher
00:11conditions becoming established across the country. So back to Monday evening, any daytime
00:16showers should actually die back as soon as the sun goes down, while some of those showers
00:20persisting across north west Scotland will also be rather windy. Overnight temperatures
00:26into mid single figures, although where we see those clearing skies across parts of Northern
00:32Ireland, temperatures dipping below freezing in some more rural locations, so a touch of
00:36frost is possible. So a cloudy but bright start on Tuesday and from mid morning onwards
00:43some of those showers developing fairly widely right the way across the country and some
00:48of those showers will prove rather heavy in a few locations. Temperatures generally down
00:53a notch on recent values with highs of 13 or 14 for many of us, although 17 across parts
00:59of London and the south east. Now those showers continue to affect many parts of the country
01:06during the course of Tuesday afternoon and evening, although as soon as that sun goes
01:09down those showers tending to die back just a little, although wind also picking up from
01:15the east later. And looking at the outlook period, so a bit of a mixed bag is in prospect
01:20for the coming week, although with high pressure to the east that will actually help to keep
01:23the bulk of the rain and the cloud at bay to the west. Thank you for listening and please
01:29check our social media channels for the latest updates. Bye for now.
