16 April - National weather forecast presented by Dan Stroud
Transcript
00:00Hello, we saw highs of 23 degrees on Good Friday across parts of London and we're going
00:05to see similar values this afternoon, although those highest temperatures focus across more
00:10western areas. So a lot of dry and fine weather right the way across the country this afternoon
00:16with an ample supply of spring sunshine and light southerly winds, although near some
00:21coastal areas some sea breezes kicking in during the course of the afternoon. Feeling
00:25another very warm day with temperatures well above average with highs of 23 or 22 degrees
00:31across England and Wales and 17 further north. So clear skies overnight will allow a few
00:37mist and fog patches to develop by dawn, although further north and west cloud and outbreaks
00:43of rain across Northern Ireland and Scotland arriving by midnight. So overnight temperatures
00:48into single figures, especially where we see those clear skies. And another bright and
00:55fine day for many of us on Easter Sunday, although further west clouds started to edge
01:01in across western areas with outbreaks of rain across Northern Ireland and Scotland.
01:07And temperature wise, another warm day with temperatures above average, although not quite
01:12as warm as we will see during the course of Saturday with highs of 20 for some of us.
01:18And looking at the outlook period, so slightly cooler and fresher conditions will push in
01:23from the west during the course of Bank Holiday Monday. And with those fresher conditions,
01:28outbreaks of rain starting to also make a reappearance in the forecast. Thank you for
01:32listening and please check our social media channels for the latest updates. Bye for now.
