18 April - National weather forecast presented by Dan Stroud.

00:00Hello there, April showers bring forth May flowers, and that is generally the theme for
00:05some of us today, but a much cloudier picture right the way across the country and temperatures
00:11down a notch on recent values too. And that cloudier picture is demonstrated quite nicely
00:16in the current satellite sequence, although that cloud is starting to actually break up
00:20more generally, so some decent sunny spells developing across the UK during the course
00:25of the afternoon. But we've also got some showers too, but those showers tending to
00:30be concentrated across more western areas. Temperatures down a notch on what they were
00:36yesterday, with highs generally into the mid-teens, although still the chance of some 17s and
00:4218s being reached in London and the South East. So any showers across western areas
00:47will quickly die back overnight with some decent clear skies developing, especially
00:52across northern areas, and with those clearing skies, temperatures dipping into low single
00:57figures, so a risk of a rural frost, particularly across Northern Ireland and parts of the North
01:01West. So a bright start for many of us tomorrow morning, although a little bit more in the
01:07way of cloud across England and Wales, and showers starting to break out a little bit
01:12more widely than we will see during the course of Monday afternoon, and some of those showers
01:16tomorrow reasonably heavy. Temperatures down a notch again, especially across parts of
01:22London and the South East, with highs of 17. And looking at the outlook period, so a changeable
01:28week to come, but high pressure to the east, helping to actually keep the bulk of the wind
01:32and the rain at bay to the west. It will also be rather chilly at times, especially across
01:37some eastern areas later in the week. Thank you for listening, and please check our social
01:43media channels for the latest updates. Bye for now.
