03 April - National weather forecast presented by Dan Stroud
Transcript
00:00Hello, a cold and frosty start for many of us this morning, with overnight lows of minus
00:057.5 in parts of Wales. But a change is afoot as milder Atlantic air arrives from the north
00:11and the west, and with those milder conditions, rain will also be making a reappearance as
00:16we move into the new week. But back to Sunday. So a good deal of dry and bright weather is
00:22on offer, although as we saw with Saturday, cloud bubbling up during the course of the
00:27afternoon. It will also feel a bit milder than it did on Saturday, with temperatures
00:32into high single figures and low double figures, highs of 11 and 12 across the south. So a
00:39band of cloud and rain will arrive across parts of the north-west, and that will gradually
00:43sink southwards overnight, at the same time winds strengthening, becoming rather gusty
00:48in places. A much milder night is on offer, with temperatures into mid single figures
00:53in the south, and high single figures across parts of Scotland. So a band of cloud and
00:58rain will clear southwards during the course of Monday, though remaining rather cloudy
01:03behind that front, with further outbreaks of rain across western hills. A warmer day
01:08is on offer, with highs of 13 and 14 across the south. And looking at the outlook, so
01:14an unsettled theme as we move into the new week, although cold weather never too far
01:20away. Thank you for listening, and please check our social media channels for the latest
01:24updates. Bye for now!
