00:00Hello, rain has been in short supply during the month of April but with the new month
00:04we have a new theme to the weather and that theme is of rain which has made a reappearance
00:10to the forecast. But looking at the bigger picture, we have a weak area of low pressure
00:16to the west of the UK and that area of low pressure continues to sink south overnight
00:21Sunday into Bank Holiday Monday. And as that low pressure sinks south, outbreaks of rain
00:26and drizzle will gradually clear the far south of the country before midnight. Rather
00:32cloudy across most areas but that cloud is starting to break up across the north. Overnight
00:37temperatures dipping into high single figures with overnight lows of 8 or 9 degrees for
00:43many of us. So a rather cloudy picture on Bank Holiday Monday but that cloud is starting
00:49to lift and break up in some places so some sunny spells developing but with those sunnier
00:56spells we're also going to see some showers starting to develop but those showers mostly
01:00light. A warmer day right the way across England and Wales with highs of 16 or perhaps 17.
01:07Slightly cooler further north with highs of 13. And that cloudy theme continues into Monday
01:14evening although those daytime showers tending to ease back a little bit as skies break a
01:20little bit more readily so some clear spells developing overnight. And looking at the
01:26outlook period so a changeable week to come but further bands of cloud and rain are expected
01:31to actually cross the country at times but there is a tendency for slightly drier and
01:36warmer conditions to develop towards the weekend as high pressure tries to build from the west.
