00:00Hello. Temperatures reached above 23 degrees again today, and there is a good deal of this

00:06in the forecast over the coming few days. The settled weather is thanks largely to an

00:11area of high pressure to the west of the country, and this will continue to influence the weather

00:16over the next few days. The jet stream, which normally brings wet and windy weather to the

00:21UK, is held well to the north of the country. That's not to say there is some cloud moving

00:25across the country. We do have a band of clouds sinking south across England and Wales overnight

00:32tonight, but most parts of the country have clear skies, and with clear skies, those temperatures

00:39will fall away. Most places in towns and cities, temperatures dropping into high single figures,

00:46but step a few miles out into those rural spots, those temperatures will be a good few

00:51degrees lower, maybe as low as 2 or 4 degrees in some spots across central areas. So it's

00:57a chilly start to Tuesday morning, but a bright one. There is some cloud in the mix too, but

01:02some decent sunny spells. Winds largely light, but reasonably brisk, especially down through

01:09that southeastern corner, and that will make it feel a little bit chillier near the coasts.

01:15Overall, Tuesday will be a slightly cooler day than Monday, with temperatures still generally

01:22above average for England and Wales, further north with temperatures into mid to high teens.

01:28These temperatures are around average, temperatures we kind of expect for late May. So that fine

01:35and dry weather continues through into Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, as high pressure continues

01:42to dominate the weather. Although there will be some subtle changes and some cloud in the

01:47mix at times, but temperatures will generally subside a little bit towards the middle of

01:53the week, but towards the weekend across the north, those temperatures starting to actually

01:57recover, reaching into the low 20s, looking further south towards the end of the week

02:03and towards the weekend. Look at this, temperatures only 25 degrees by the time we actually get

02:08to Friday. So good to look dry and fine weather is in the offing with some decent sunny spells

02:16and temperatures rising as we move towards the weekend. Thank you for listening and please
