00:00Hello. After a record-breaking summer, metrological autumn has kicked off with a bit of a bang,

00:08with the return of cloud and rain to many parts of the country. And that change has

00:13been brought about by an era of low pressure currently sat to the west of the country.

00:18And that is spreading cloud and rain steadily northwards overnight Saturday into Sunday.

00:23And during the early hours of Sunday, we are likely to see a pulse of heavier rain arriving

00:27from the far south and west. A warm night with temperatures comfortably staying in double

00:32figures right the way across the board, with overnight lows of 14 and 15. So it's a wet

00:39start to Sunday morning. We do start the day with two yellow rain warnings covering Northern

00:44Ireland and parts of eastern Scotland, and those are valid for much of the day.

00:50So we start the day with cloud and rain moving steadily northwards. Some heavier bursts in

00:54there too. And that moving quite quickly northwards. The driest and brightest of the conditions

01:00reserved for parts of the south and east. And where we do see those sunniest conditions,

01:06that's where I like to see the warmest weather, with temperatures during the course of Sunday

01:10afternoon reaching 24 or 25 across parts of London and the south east.

01:16And that unsettled theme continues into Sunday evening, with a lot of cloud around and further

01:21pulses of rain moving northwards across many western areas. We're also likely to see those

01:27winds start to strengthen across the very far south and west later in the day. And that

01:33leads into a very rather windier theme during the course of Monday, remaining generally

01:38unsettled right the way through the next week, with low pressure set to the west of the country,

01:45bringing further pulses of rain and cloud across many parts of the UK.
