00:00Well, again, a fairly unsettled couple of days coming up with some heavy showers around
00:05and then it turns colder with hill snow in places. But for much of the UK, it's a cloudy
00:10picture as we start off the afternoon, a spell of rain clearing the southeast and then some
00:14very lively showers pushing through, hail, thunder, gusty winds, a mixture of bright
00:19spells and showers for many then for the rest of the afternoon. 13 Celsius in the south
00:25but colder further north and some persistent rain for Orkney, the far north and parts of
00:30the west of Scotland, 5 Celsius there for Shetland. Now, as we head into the evening,
00:36we're going to see this low push across the country and that will increase the winds as
00:42tight ice bars push into parts of Northern Ireland, the Irish Sea coast as well. And
00:47as the low pulls away, those strong winds push colder weather southwards across much
00:52of the country. So, a spell of strong winds, gales even for the north and west of Scotland,
00:56Northern Ireland into Irish Sea coast, 60, perhaps more mile per hour wind gusts through
01:01the night time. And those strong winds pushing colder air further south, so these persistent
01:05rain that we see across the Northern Isles pushes into Northern Scotland with hill snow,
01:10not a great deal, 2 centimetres or so above 400 metres, a mixture of showers further south
01:15but some clear spells there for Wales, for parts of the Midlands, East Anglia, perhaps
01:20some more persistent rain turning up for the far south of England where it will be
01:24mild but much colder start for the north of Scotland, icy patches in places, that hill
01:29snow as well. It turns into showers and we're going to see a mixture of bright spells and
01:33wintry showers for much of the northern half of the country during the morning, those showers
01:37pushing south by the afternoon, perhaps the odd one turning up in the far south but a
01:41bright day to come for many, sunny spells away from the showers, that blustery wind
01:45though will make it feel cold with 7 or 8 Celsius in the north, 12 degrees in the south,
01:52the showers falling as rain and hail at low levels, snow over hills of North Wales, Northern
01:57England, Scotland as well. Showers continuing into the evening on Thursday but increasingly
02:02we'll see clear spells, the winds easing out a touch as well so that means it will be a
02:06frosty start for many on Friday and there'll be plenty of bright weather on Friday and
02:12into the weekend but further showers in places and some chilly mornings as well.
