00:00Hello, very good day to you. Plenty of showers as we go through Thursday, some of them heavy
00:04with the risk of some lightning and thunder too. If we take a look at what happened earlier
00:09and you can see the rain that many of us had yesterday and overnight is now clearing away
00:13towards the east but plenty of showers have already started to follow in behind and some
00:18of them have turned quite heavy. As we look through the rest of Thursday then and yes
00:23there will be some rain lingering across the far east and northeast of Scotland. Otherwise
00:27though it's a day of sunny breaks and some showers. Watch out though there could be some
00:31hefty downpours with the risk of hail, lightning and thunder particularly across central and
00:35eastern parts of the UK. Temperatures are a touch above average for the time of year
00:39and feeling a little bit more pleasant than yesterday when it was quite a wet day for
00:42many. As we go through the end of the day on Thursday we are going to see this ridge
00:47of high pressure building from the west so that should quieten things down and with high
00:50pressure then building as we go through into Good Friday we are going to see a lot of fine
00:55settled weather and with that some decent warm sunshine too and that continues at least
00:59through the first half of the Easter weekend. Taking a look at the details through the end
01:04of the day on Thursday many of the showers in the west easing because of that ridge of
01:07high pressure some continuing in the east but it is going to turn largely dry as we
01:11go through the night with often clear skies. As a result through the early hours of Good
01:16Friday we could see a touch of frost in prone spots and watch out for some fog patches or
01:20perhaps some freezing fog as well. As we go through Good Friday itself then we are
01:25going to see a little bit of low clouds starting to feed into some North Sea coastal parts
01:29could see a few spots of rain here otherwise though it's a fine picture. Lots of sunshine
01:34to be had as well barely a cloud in the sky for some places and in the sunshine it is
01:40going to feel pleasantly warm. Temperatures similar to Thursday perhaps a touch higher
01:44but with a decent amount of sunshine and barely any risk of any showers it is going to be
01:49a fine day for most. It's almost like the weather doesn't know it's a bank holiday.
01:53As we go through the end of the day on Good Friday we are going to hold on to the generally
01:57calm weather still some cloud and a few spots of rain for some North Sea coastal parts but
02:02otherwise lots of clear skies. So again it is going to turn quite chilly so we'll see
02:06the return of a few fog patches and perhaps a touch of frost as we wake up on Saturday
02:11morning. Otherwise and as we look ahead through the rest of the weekend and yes Saturday is
02:15looking like a mostly fine day but some unsettled weather starting to push in from the northwest
02:19later on Easter Sunday before more unsettled weather arrives as we go through Easter Monday.
02:24A bit of uncertainty as to the timing of this rain but it does look like it's going to come
02:29through Easter Sunday night into Monday with the worst of it clearing then by the time
02:32most of us wake up on Easter Monday. But either way there will be some showery rain following
02:37in behind so this definitely does look like the wettest day of the long weekend. Now there's
02:41more information on the forecast for the long Easter weekend on both the Met Office website
02:46our app and of course our social media channels. I'll see you later.
