00:00Hello, and welcome to your latest forecast from here at the Met Office.
00:03Although there will be plenty of dry and sunny weather around this weekend,
00:06you can also see a few heavy, perhaps thundery, showers.
00:09So high pressure is in charge of our weather, but we do have these small frontal systems
00:13moving their way in from the southwest. Both tonight and on Sunday,
00:16these could be the focus for those heavy, thundery showers.
00:19So for Saturday afternoon, much of the UK is dry, fine, with plenty of sunny spells around.
00:25Always cloudier up towards Northern Ireland and North West Scotland,
00:28and a few showers are possible there for a time.
00:31Temperatures, though, in the sunshine reach in low 20s for many of us.
00:35However, down towards the southwest, we do see some of these showers starting to develop,
00:39and through the overnight period, they'll move their way
00:42north and eastwards across southern England and Wales.
00:45These could bring some thundery downpours at times.
00:48Other than that, though, it will be a mild night,
00:49with the best of the dry weather up towards Scotland.
00:53So Sunday starts off on a damp note in the south,
00:55with some heavy, possibly thundery showers first thing.
00:58Dry a little bit further north, although still some showers for western Scotland.
01:01Then through the day, more in the way of sunshine,
01:03and even warmer in the southeast corner on Sunday, with highs of 25 degrees possible.
01:08But showers are already queuing up in the south for the overnight period.
01:12If you want to know more about those thundery showers or the forecast,
01:15do follow us on our social media channels.
01:17I'll speak to you again soon.
