00:00Hello and welcome to your latest forecast from here at the Met Office.
00:04After a rather damp afternoon for many, it will turn drier overnight to leave a drier and brighter day on Sunday.
00:10That's all down to this area of high pressure out to the west of the UK that will gradually build in across all parts,
00:15calming our weather down and leaving it much drier and brighter for Sunday.
00:19At first though, we do have some heavy thundery showers across south-west England.
00:22That rain will clear its way south-eastwards overnight.
00:25Showers will persist across Northern Ireland and Scotland, but elsewhere it will be dry with clear spells and feel noticeably fresher than previous nights.
00:32So as a mainly dry and bright start to the day on Sunday, there's always a risk of seeing some showery rain across the southern coasts of England.
00:40Showers across Northern Ireland and Scotland will ease throughout the day and elsewhere will be mostly dry with plenty of sunny spells around.
00:47And in that sunshine, temperatures are getting up into the low 20s and feeling quite pleasant.
00:51That will continue as we head through into the evening where we will see more in the way of sunny spells,
00:57but we will see further showery rain start to push its way into southern and south-western England again on Sunday night,
01:03again bringing a risk of the odd rumble of thunder.
