00:00Hello and welcome to your latest forecast from here at the Met Office.
00:03After some hot weather for many of us over the last couple of days, things are
00:07going to turn fresher as we head through this weekend. That's all down to this
00:10area of high-pressure buildings to the west of the UK. That's bringing in cooler,
00:14fresher northerly winds, but also maintaining a very dry and sunny feel.
00:18For this afternoon we've got some outbreaks of heavy rain across Western
00:22Wales and the Midlands. Here we could see a little rumble of thunder, showers
00:26across Northern Ireland and Scotland, elsewhere some sunny spells and we're
00:29still holding on to the last of that heat down in the far southeast. We could
00:33see 28, maybe even 29 this afternoon. Through this evening and overnight the
00:38rain in the south will very slowly clear its way to the south and east.
00:41Showers will persist across Northern Ireland and Scotland, but elsewhere a mostly
00:45dry night and feeling significantly fresher than it has done on previous
00:49nights for many of us. So it's a dry, fine and bright start for many on Sunday
00:54morning. There's always a risk of seeing some rain across southern counties of
00:58England, but the showers across Northern Ireland and Scotland will gradually fade
01:02through the day and in that sunshine we'll see temperatures reaching the low
01:0520s, so feeling pretty pleasant, particularly for central areas, much
01:09better than will have been today. If you want to keep up to date with the
01:12forecast or what's happening throughout the week, follow us on our social media
01:16channels and I'll speak to you again soon.
