00:00Hello again. Hopefully, most of you got to see at least some warm sunshine over the weekend.
00:05But we have seen a band of rain coming south-eastwards through Sunday. This should clear to south-east
00:10of England on Monday morning, allowing a cooler air mass to dominate for the first part of
00:15the week. Plenty of dry weather for a lot of us, but there will be some showers on most
00:18days but not amounting to too much. There's nothing like the dramatic downpours we saw
00:21at times last week. But it will be quite a chilly start to the week, particularly by
00:25night. So, gardeners and growers beware. A bit of frost is in the forecast, even though
00:29we're talking about mid-May now. Now, the bigger picture then has this initial front
00:34fading away to the east of us, and high pressure will then basically be the dominating factor
00:39this week. Initially, building quite a cool air mass, even though the blue is on the charts
00:42there. But gradually, the blue is being replaced by yellows and oranges. So, a slight uptick
00:47in temperatures by the end of the week. One or two weak weather fronts you'll notice coming
00:51into the far west of the UK, not amounting to much, but maintaining some cloudier skies
00:55and the risk of the odd shower nonetheless. Back to the here and now then, and we've got
01:00this band of rain coming south-eastwards across the remainder of England and Wales through
01:03Sunday evening. Most of it fairly light in part, but I think the scope for the odd heavier
01:08bursts across parts of East Anglia and maybe south-east England through the early hours
01:11of Monday morning. To the north-west of this, skies will clear within that cooler air mass.
01:16So, aside from a few showers across the far north-west of Scotland, it will be a mostly
01:20dry end to the night. But temperatures will be quite a bit lower than what we've seen
01:24over some recent nights. So, towns and city temperatures, mid-single figures, and parts
01:27of southern and eastern Scotland, don't be surprised to see the odd pocket of frost first
01:31thing on Monday morning. But the chilly start will be compensated for by plenty of sunshine
01:36for most. The early cloud and rain across the south-east of England should fairly soon
01:40clear away. By lunchtime, skies should be brightening here. Elsewhere, though, after
01:44that sunny start, cloud tends to fill in through the day and this will lead to a few sharp
01:49showers developing across parts of eastern Scotland, northern England, perhaps eastern
01:53England as well. Whereas further south and west, so Northern Ireland, Wales, south-west
01:57England, here we've got the best of the sunshine with light winds not feeling too bad. Despite
02:01the fact that temperatures on the face of it will be quite disappointing for the time
02:05of year and certainly several degrees lower than what we saw over the weekend. So, peaking
02:08at 17-18 degrees in parts of the south and south-west. Quite a nagging cool breeze, though,
02:13along some North Sea coast and for the north of Scotland will really make it feel quite
02:16cool for the time of year. Then through Monday evening, with showers across eastern Scotland,
02:22north-east England, should tend to fade away quite quickly. There are many places actually
02:25becoming dry overnight into Tuesday morning. Quite widely clear skies for many of us and
02:30again in that cooled air mass at the time of year, those temperatures will be falling
02:34away. So, more widely chilly night, I think, to take us into Tuesday morning. Again, some
02:39pockets of frost certainly possible, so gardeners and growers beware. The far north of Scotland,
02:43though, will be turning cloudy, a bit breezy here, in fact quite windy for a time for the
02:46northern isles. And this area of cloud, some sporadic bits and pieces of rain coming south
02:51across Scotland into northern England, perhaps northern Ireland, through Tuesday afternoon.
02:55Tending to break up into sunshine and showers. Whereas further south, after a bright sunny
03:00start, again the clouds tend to bubble up, spread out across the sky through the afternoon.
03:04So quite cloudy at times, but equally some bright or sunny spells. But wherever you are,
03:08those temperatures again rather suppressed for the time of year. Mid-teens just about
03:11covers it. So, chilly start to the new week for the time of year. Things turn a little
03:17bit milder later on in the week. Best place to keep up to date with the weather updates

03:27Bye for now.
