00:00Hello again. Watch out for lovely sunsets on Tuesday evening with the mixture of medium
00:06cloud coming in from the west in addition to Saharan dust being drawn up from the south,
00:11so especially parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, perhaps western parts of England
00:15and Wales seeing those beautiful colours. Now, this front is being pushed along by an
00:20emerging jet stream which will turn the weather more changeable later this week but for the
00:24time being high pressure is in charge and that's why for most it's been a sunny day
00:29with a lot of warmth arriving from the south as well. Overnight we'll see those temperatures
00:35fall away once again and some fog patches will emerge especially across central and
00:39eastern and southeastern parts of England. The fog a bit more patchy compared with the
00:43previous night because there's going to be a bit more of a breeze but temperatures still
00:48getting close to zero if not below in a few sheltered spots. Further west a different
00:53story we've got more of a breeze, we've got cloud and outbreaks of rain pushing into western
00:57Scotland and Northern Ireland. That'll keep things frost free but it's a wet start for
01:02the western isles, for Northern Ireland as well. This cold front, fairly active at first,
01:08will push into the rest of Scotland during the morning approaching northern England,
01:12western England and Wales by lunchtime but it's going to weaken progressively and by
01:18the time it rises into the Midlands, central southern England, it's just light outbreaks
01:22of rain really and an area of cloud ahead of it. Some sunshine remaining once those
01:26fog patches have cleared, 13 or 14 Celsius here, 8 to 10 behind the cold front with some
01:31blush through showers arriving into west and northwest Scotland. Northern Ireland seeing
01:37the first signs of the next weather system moving in. Now this is a trail of cloud and
01:43outbreaks of rain associated with a number of weather fronts but really it's just a slice
01:48of mild and moist Atlantic air. Moving into Northern Ireland on Wednesday evening, Wales
01:53into the southwest, some moderate rain for a time but by the time we get into Thursday,
01:58actually much of this is light and patchy rain and it sets the scene for the rest of
02:04Thursday. So Thursday, southern Scotland, Northern Ireland, England and Wales, a mild
02:10start to the day but a lot of cloud, that cloud covering the hills and coasts so quite
02:14dreary conditions and giving outbreaks of light rain and drizzle, especially damp around
02:19western and southern coasts and hills but some outbreaks of rain elsewhere. Brighter
02:25skies really to the north of the Central Belt, that's where the best conditions will be if
02:28you like bright skies but it will be a bit colder here, temperatures of 6 or 7 Celsius
02:33whilst elsewhere across the UK, it's another mild day but the difference compared with
02:37Tuesday is that it's mild and grey and damp rather than mild and sunny. So far on Thursday,
02:44conditions relatively light but later in the day those winds strengthen especially
02:49across northern parts of the UK and most especially the Pennines and just the east of the Pennines
02:54as well as southeast Scotland. We'll keep you updated on all of that, you can follow
02:58us on social media for more.
