00:00With 36 starts over seven years of racing, Casa Creed is a unique addition to the Kentucky
00:07Stallion ranks.
00:08Here, Price Bell tells us why the four-time Grade 1 winner and multi-millionaire was the
00:12right fit for Mill Ridge Farm.
00:20Casa Creed has been our most popular sire to come back into the stallion shed since
00:26maybe, I don't know, Valiant Nature back in the mid-90s, and I think because horses
00:33like Oscar Performance and Cara Conte have helped elevate turf to the point of, like,
00:39you can stand as turf sire in America.
00:42And also, he has just such a great story, you know, relative to Leon Seidler and Mike
00:46Francesa.
00:47I mean, they're just like the, I don't know, I mean, they develop fan favorites, and this
00:51horse was certainly a fan favorite.
00:53One, because he ran in four straight four-star daves, but two, because Lee and Mike are so
00:59generous in sharing their horses and sharing the experience.
01:03So you start to put that together, and you start to say, well, you know, not only did
01:08he win at two, went on the dirt, his first stakes win comes on the 5th of January of
01:13his three-year-old year, where he wins the Kitten's Joy, and then he puts together body
01:17work, where I think he runs in 27 graded stakes, wins four Grade 1s, wins nine races, runs
01:23I think nine triple-digit buyers.
01:25So he is precocious, if that's something that we demand in stallion prospects, if he is
01:31brilliant.
01:32If you can be brilliant and defeat his Breeders' Cup mile in 2023 at Santa Anita, I mean, he's
01:38beaten just for the whole thing by Maj and Master of the Seas, like two proper European
01:45horses.
01:46You have to have, like, determination and brilliance to perform at that level time and
01:52again on the turf, especially.
01:54Casa Creed on the outside, these two square off once again, Casa Creed or Annapolis?
01:59Annapolis, Casa Creed, Casa Creed, Casa Creed, what a racehorse he is!
02:05I think he's a very attractive, good-looking horse, you know, he stands over a lot of ground.
02:11If you were to knock him, you'd say, well, he's now starting his stallion career at nine.
02:16But if we, at the same time, look for more longevity in our horses and feel we're not
02:22breeding enough longevity into our horses, then is he not the perfect candidate to be
02:27considered?
02:28You know, this isn't a horse who was brilliant at six and seven, he was brilliant from two
02:34to eight.
02:35I mean, that's a body of work that, if we're trying to promote and breed better, faster,
02:40stronger, stouter horses, he should be considered.
02:45Casa Creed has put together a great syndicate similar to Oz Performance.
02:50Key to success, I think, is really trying to work and support the breeders who are taking
02:55this chance with you and recognizing it's a relationship and that you're really, you,
03:01the promoter of the stallion, is only as good as those breeders who will join you on the
03:06journey.
