00:00Welcome in the Gainesway guests of the week, none other than Aaron Wellman, the managing partner of Eclipse Thoroughbreds.
00:06Aaron, I understand there's some news. What can you tell us about Locke's future as a stallion?
00:13Really thrilled to be able to announce that he will be standing stud at famed Gainesway Farm upon retirement from his racing career.
00:21And we've had a lot of success with Gainesway, the Beck family, Brian Graves, the whole team there.
00:29So hopefully Locke's got a lot of running left to do, but we're excited for him to potentially prove that he's a generational talent in the breeding shed when the time comes.
00:40Our guest of the week, Aaron Wellman, was brought to you by Gainesway.
00:44The Gainesway stallion of the week is McKenzie, the sire of Hopeful and Champagne winner Chancer McPatrick, scheduled to make his three-year-old debut on Saturday in the Tampa Bay Derby.
00:54The Connections are hoping Chancer McPatrick emulates his sire. McKenzie turned in 11 triple-digit buyer speed figures in his racing career and was an immediate smash at stud.
01:06And it wasn't just Chancer McPatrick. McKenzie finished 2024 as the number one freshman sire in grade one winners, grade one performers, graded stakes winners and graded stakes performers.
01:18And also among those, the Scottish lassie, the nine-length winner of the preset.
01:23This year, McKenzie already has four black-tie horses, and McKenzie stands at Gainesway for a fee of $75,000.
01:31Gainesway, power, passion, performance.
01:36Here comes that big gray Tappet Trice right down the outside.
