00:00The Darley Stallions are enjoying quite the perma-patch of success currently, be that on the racecourse or in the sales ring, and excitement amongst their roster continues to grow as they welcome five-time Group One winner Modern Games to Dalham Hall for the 2024 season.
00:15Also joining the team at Dalham Hall in the nominations department is Connor Norris, and he tells us more about Modern Games.
00:22So we stand Modern Games for his first year. He's the son of Dubawi out of the New Approach men, he's the brother to Morge who won the Guineas this year.
00:30Very excited to have him, he's a five-time Group One winner. He won Group Ones at two, three and four years old, so he trained on throughout his career.
00:38Won two Breeders' Cups, Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf and the Breeders' Cup Mile at three, so he's a fantastic racehorse.
00:45And he's been here about a month now, and showing a fantastic attitude, so we're very excited to have him.
00:50He won the Lock Inge very impressively, I think he actually received a higher rating that day than when Night of Thunder won the Lock Inge himself.
00:56So he was a superstar on the track, and he won Group Ones in four different countries, so a real superstar worldwide.
01:03I think his quote in the brochure is a real head-down attitude, tried very hard, what Dubawi puts into his progeny, a real will to win.
01:11And he was tough as you like on the racecourse.
01:15Yeah, he's lovely, he's really lovely. Fantastic walking horse, real balanced, kind of correct confirmationally, real strength and substance, and yeah, looks a nice horse.
01:27Yeah, real positive feedback so far. He's let down well in the month he's been here, and he already settled into life at Dalham Hall very well,
01:35and everyone that's come to see him seems to like him, which is a fantastic start really when looking to get mares into him for the coming season.
01:42So I actually started pretty much the same time as Modern Games came here, so started on the same day.
01:47But yeah, I was working for Marco Botti as an assistant trainer from a bloodstock background, and wanted to get back into the bloodstock industry,
01:54and a role like this is something I've always wanted to do. Very passionate about my pedigrees and stallions, so it was an unbelievable opportunity, and I'm really excited to get started.
