00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest broadcast from the Met Office. We'll generally see low
00:05pressure dominating our weather as we move through the rest of the bank holiday weekend.
00:10Looking at the pressure pattern, we can see areas of rain, some heavy showers across the
00:15country as well. The wind is picking up a little around the coast and generally feeling
00:19on the cool side, particularly under the cloud and the rain.
00:23So, back to Saturday evening, rain pushing in from the southwest affecting southern and
00:28western areas through the evening and then overnight this pushes northwards across the
00:32country. Another area of rain also affecting parts of northern England into southern Scotland.
00:37This could be heavy at times and generally for most, a cloudy night. So, that will help
00:41keep temperatures up. Generally, for most, double figures, 12, 13 Celsius to take us
00:47into Sunday morning, which will be a grey, damp start in places, outbreaks of rain. But
00:52it will brighten up from the southwest quite quickly and this will push its way northwards.
00:57However, with low pressure in charge, we'll see shower clouds bubble up and then into
01:02the afternoon, the showers could be heavy, perhaps some hail, thunder and lightning in
01:06there too, which could lead to some local disruption. So, a Met Office warning out for
01:10much of the afternoon into the evening time, particularly across parts of England and Wales.
01:15For Northern Ireland, southern Scotland, generally cloudier here. Some outbreaks of rain which
01:20could also be heavy and perhaps thundery. A little drier across central northern parts
01:24of Scotland, but the risk of a few showers too. And breezy around the coasts and for
01:29most, temperatures a little lower compared to Saturday, 14 to 19 Celsius, possibly 20
01:36or 21 degrees. Some eastern parts of England feeling a little less chilly compared to Saturday
01:42where we had the cloud and outbreaks of rain through the day. Into the evening time, the
01:46showers will continue to move northwards, but then will fade overnight across much of
01:51England and Wales. However, further spells of rain pushing in and moving north-eastwards
01:56as we go through the night. Some of this heavy at times. The driest conditions towards central
02:02and south-eastern parts of England. Perhaps Northern Ireland seeing some lengthy clear
02:06spells too. And under the clear spells, temperatures just about dipping into single figures. But
02:11again, for most, starting Monday off a mild note, temperatures 11 or 12 degrees. A brighter
02:18start as well, particularly England and Wales. But showers quickly bubbling up and again
02:23across much of the country. Sunny spells and showers. Some of these could be heavy at times.
02:28Showers perhaps more focused across eastern parts of the UK by the afternoon. Some heavy
02:32and thundery. Also, Scotland seeing some of those thundery showers. Perhaps some longer
02:37spells of rain in the west too. And temperatures perhaps down again, 17 to 18 degrees as a
02:43top temperature. It then remains unsettled into Tuesday. We'll see further spells of
02:50rain and showers in places. And if you'd like more information on the weather for the rest
02:55of the week, you can follow us on our social media channels. See you again soon.
