00:00Hello there. Welcome to your latest Met Office forecast. It's a mixed picture but unsettled
00:06particularly across southern parts of England and Wales. This area of low pressure is going
00:11to move in across the south of the UK as we move through Sunday and into Monday bringing
00:16some heavy rain and strong winds particularly across southern counties of England. A ridge
00:21of high pressure keeping it largely settled further north with one or two showers. This
00:25evening fairly settled for many. There are still a few showers around but most of these
00:29start to fade away. We'll see clear spells overnight. Some prolonged clear spells will
00:33allow temperatures to drop down to minus 7, possibly minus 8 through parts of Scotland
00:38leading to a widespread frost here, perhaps some icy stretches too. Elsewhere, some mist
00:44and fog patches forming low cloud as well keeping temperatures here a little higher
00:48but close to if not below freezing to start Sunday morning. We could see a few icy stretches.
00:54However, this low pressure system already starting to move into the far southwest cloud
00:59and outbreaks of rain to greet us first thing across parts of Devon and Cornwall. The winds
01:04picking up here too, the rain turning heavy as we move through the morning. This slowly
01:08sliding its way eastwards through the day. Elsewhere, some low cloud mist and fog to
01:14start will slowly lift and break and it's a bright day for much of Scotland, Northern
01:17Ireland, Northern England. One or two showers around, generally light winds. Cloudier skies
01:22further south with this outbreaks of rain continuing. Met Office warnings here. Right
01:26through the day, we could see 30, 40 millimetres of rain in places. This falling on saturated
01:32ground could lead to some flooding issues. So, if you are travelling, do take extra care
01:36with also gales around the coasts. Temperatures here, 9, 10 Celsius, a little above average.
01:42Elsewhere, 7 or 8 degrees. So, in the sunshine, not feeling too bad. Under any cloud and the
01:48rain, it will feel quite chilly. The rain continues into the evening, perhaps transferring
01:52a little further eastwards, allowing it to become a little drier across the south-west.
01:57Elsewhere, clear spells, scattered showers taking us into Monday morning. Again, under
02:01the clearest skies, we could see a few mist and fog patches and a frost forming. A few
02:06icy stretches too. Temperatures falling below, freezing here. But the winds strengthening
02:11across central, southern, south-eastern areas will keep temperatures up here along with
02:15the cloud and outbreaks of rain. So, a wet start across the south-east first thing on
02:20Monday. The rain here, slow to clear. It could linger for much of the day. Elsewhere, brightening
02:26up the best of the sunshine across northern and western parts of the UK. A few showers
02:31being blown in on quite a keen north-easterly breeze. And temperatures again, around average
02:35for the time of year, maybe slightly above in the south, 10 or 11 Celsius. So, it stays
02:41unsettled, particularly in the south, over the coming days. You can find out the latest
02:45information on our social media channels. See you again soon.
