00:00Hello there, good morning. Welcome to your latest weather forecast from the Met Office.
00:05Low pressure continues to dominate the weather pattern through today and the next few days
00:10as well. In fact, this area of low pressure just swirls around the UK, bringing spells
00:14of rain and heavy showers and blustery winds to many parts. But there will be some brighter
00:18interludes in between at times too. So, looking at the picture first thing this morning, some
00:23heavy rain clearing parts of Northern Ireland, some local flooding possible here. Elsewhere,
00:28a mixture of sunny spells, scattered heavy showers, particularly heavy across eastern
00:33and northern parts of Scotland with some snow over the higher ground. Through the day, sunny
00:37spells and blustery showers, some of them contain some hail and some thunder in between
00:43too. But if you manage to get into some sunshine, it won't feel too bad and temperatures lifting
00:47generally into the low double figures, 12, 13, locally perhaps 14 Celsius where we manage
00:54to stay dry. But it will be quite chilly around the coast with a blustery southerly breeze.
01:00Into the evening time, further showers pushing their way northwards as we move through the
01:04rest of the day into the early hours and then some longer spells of rain moving into central
01:09southern parts of England and pushing into parts of Wales too. Some of this could be
01:12heavy and then later on, parts of Northern England, Northern Ireland, Scotland where
01:17winterfall like, we could see some clear spells and mist and fog patches and even some pockets
01:22of frost. Here, temperatures falling to low single figures, below freezing in the countryside
01:27for parts of Scotland but holding up under the cloud, the wind and the rain further south.
01:32So parts of England and Wales are wet start to Thursday, perhaps some hail snow over parts
01:37of the Welsh mountains before this rain pushes further north and then further blustery bouts
01:42of rain push into central southern parts. The odd rumble of thunder is possible. Winds
01:47pick up during the day on Thursday, particularly along southern coasts of England. Here, temperatures
01:5211 or 12 at best, 9 to 11 Celsius further north. Best of the sunshine perhaps for some
01:58western parts of Scotland here. And then as we move into the Easter weekend,
02:03while low pressure is still dominant, there will be further spells of rain, some heavy
02:07showers at times, but there is some chance of some longer spells of sunshine developing.
02:13The details of this still to be firmed up, but it could just start to feel a little warmer
02:18as a result. If you'd like more information on the weather
