00:00Hello again, very good evening to you. We've seen a bit of a north-south split develop
00:04today with some fairly wet weather across northern parts, something markedly drier and
00:09warmer towards the south because of high pressure that's dominating the story across many parts
00:13of central and southern Europe. However, further north there's a frontal system that's pushed
00:18its way in and this will continue to bring some outbreaks of rain across parts of Scotland
00:22through this evening and overnight, mostly towards the east and the south. Also, some
00:26outbreaks of rain across parts of northern England and north Wales too. Towards the north-west
00:31of Scotland there'll be some gusty blustery showers feeding their way in. Elsewhere though,
00:36lots of dry weather tonight and some clear skies. Despite these though, temperatures
00:40not dropping a huge amount. It is going to be a little bit fresher than last night, but
00:45generally temperatures holding up in high single figures or low double digits. Watch
00:49out first thing for some misty murkiness towards English Channel coastal parts, but this will
00:54gradually clear as we go through the morning and towards the south-east it's actually going
00:58to be a largely fine day through much of the day at least, with a decent amount of sunshine
01:02here. Northern western parts of England and Wales, some thick cloud bringing some rain
01:06at times, but none of this looking particularly heavy, gradually shifting further south-eastwards
01:11as we go through the day. The heaviest rain is likely to be further north. Across parts
01:16of Scotland we'll have a squally band pushing its way from west to east and then behind
01:20it some hefty showers following. Some of these could be heavy, could be thundery at
01:24times, there could be some hail and even some winteriness mixed in over the highest ground.
01:28There'll be some strong winds in association with these, initially as that squally band
01:33pushes through, but even after that some strong gusty winds, particularly towards the north
01:37of Scotland too. Temperatures will still be above average for the time of year, just not
01:42quite as high as on Friday. We're likely to get to the high teens, may scrape into the
01:46low 20s towards the south-east, a few degrees lower than this further north. In the gusty
01:52winds it will feel quite chilly, but in the shelter from the winds, in any sunshine, not
01:56feeling too bad still. More showers to come as we go through the end of the day on Saturday.
02:01A feature pushes its way south-eastwards across parts of England, but again nothing particularly
02:06heavy here, and actually across the south-east that's all we're going to see rain wise as
02:10we go through this weekend. Otherwise, and most of the showers will die out as we go
02:14through the night, still some continuing towards the north and west of Scotland, perhaps north-western
02:19parts of Northern Ireland, but otherwise it is going to turn dry and there'll be more
02:23clear skies around as we go through Saturday night compared to Friday night, and we have
02:27fresher colder air feeding its way in, so temperatures are going to be markedly lower.
02:31I don't think there'll be much of any frost, perhaps in the sheltered glens of Scotland
02:35we may see a touch of frost possibly, but otherwise temperatures holding up several
02:39degrees above freezing, but it is going to be a noticeably cooler start on Sunday morning
02:44than it has been recently. Plenty of fine sunny weather around though on Sunday, good
02:49deal of blue skies to be had first thing, perhaps a bit more cloud bubbling up as we
02:53go through the day, and across northern and western parts of England and Wales a few showers
02:57are possible, elsewhere across much of England and Wales it will stay mostly dry. A greater
03:02chance of showers though across Scotland and Northern Ireland, here they're going to be
03:05pretty frequent and again they could be heavy at times, there could be some hail, some thunder
03:09mixed in with these, and still some sleet or snow over the highest ground too. We have
03:14fresher air feeding its way in and so temperatures will be markedly lower on Sunday compared
03:19to recent days, mid-teens at best across the south and some places further north will struggle
03:25into single figures, when you factor in any gusty winds it will feel quite chilly at times.
03:31Later on as we go through the end of the day on Sunday and into the start of next week,
03:36there'll be a system pushing its way southeastwards, that just brings the focus for some more
03:39showers for a time, so most places likely to start the new working week on a showery
03:44note and more showers to come as we go through Tuesday. There are signs of high pressure
03:48building from the west as we go through later in the week, so some promising signs that
03:52things could turn a bit drier later on, but yes we're starting the new working week with
03:57a showery theme and quite a chilly one too, with some colder air making its way in from
04:02the north across most parts. We will of course keep you up to date with the forecast as we
04:07go through the weekend, so make sure you never miss an update by subscribing to our
