00:00Hello, good morning. Another cold and for some of us a snowy day ahead. There's the
00:05potential for some heavy persistent snow to affect some northern areas, particularly parts
00:09of Scotland as we go through today. But some of that heavy snow could also impact parts
00:13of Northern Ireland into Northern England for a time too. There is some uncertainty
00:17as to exactly when and where we're going to see the heaviest snow, but there's the potential
00:22for even some lower levels to see in excess of 10 centimetres and 20 centimetres over
00:27higher ground, so some significant disruption is quite likely. Further south, across many
00:32parts of England and Wales, it's actually looking like another largely fine day. Again,
00:36plenty of winter sunshine around, but it is still going to feel cold. Temperatures may
00:41be up a degree or so compared to yesterday, with highs of around 5, possibly 6 Celsius,
00:46but still a chilly feel to things. And further north, with all that snowy weather around,
00:51it is going to feel cold indeed. Through the evening and overnight, outbreaks of rain-sleet
00:56snow across northern areas generally push their way east and southwards, so many of
01:00it clears away towards the east, but some of it does push southwards, so some outbreaks
01:05of rain-sleet or snow pushing into north Wales and perhaps more central northern parts of
01:10England as we go through the early hours of Wednesday. Something a little bit drier following
01:14in behind across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland, but also more snow showers then following
01:19across northern areas in particular. To the south, we're likely to hold on to largely
01:24clear skies, and so again, temperatures are going to take quite a drop. A widely frosty
01:29night for many of us once more, many places falling several degrees below freezing, so
01:33watch out for some icy patches first thing on Wednesday morning. The lowest temperatures
01:37likely to be where we have some significant lying snow across parts of Scotland. Again,
01:41we could fall into negative double figures, so a very cold start to the day here. Now,
01:46Wednesday is still causing us some headaches. We have a weather system just to the south
01:50of us, and it's likely to just avoid the UK, but potentially it will push a little
01:56bit further northwards and reach more southern counties. If it does this, it could bring
02:00some disruptive snow to southern areas, but like I said, most likely just to stay to the
02:05south of us. Otherwise, and apart from some further snow showers feeding down from the
02:09north, so particularly affecting northern parts of Scotland and anywhere exposed to
02:13that northerly wind, it is going to be mostly dry with, again, some decent winter sunshine
02:18for many of us. But staying cold, temperatures only getting a few degrees above freezing
02:22for most. There is some more cold weather to come through the next few days, but as
02:26we head towards the end of the week and into the weekend, temperatures should start to
02:30lift that little bit, with more unsettled weather to come as well. Now, there will be
02:35some more information, greater detail about the warnings and the wintry hazards we have
02:39through the next few days in our deep dive with Annie, which will be available on our
02:42YouTube channel this afternoon.
