00:00Hello again, very good day to you. We have a lot of autumnal weather still to come
00:04as we go through the rest of the week and into the weekend, but for the time
00:08being there's actually a good deal of fine sunny weather around, particularly
00:12across southern parts due to this brief area of high pressure. However, our
00:16attention is already turning to an area of low pressure towards the southwest of
00:20the UK. This is going to push its way in bringing some very wet and windy weather
00:25across southern areas as we go through Thursday. Back to the here and now and
00:29through the rest of Wednesday, a cloudy story across many northern areas,
00:33outbreaks of rain. Some of the rain across parts of southwest Scotland has
00:36been pretty heavy through the morning, caused a few issues here. Through the
00:40afternoon the rain doesn't look particularly heavy, but perhaps some
00:42moderate or heavier bursts for a time. Further south across many parts of
00:47central England and Wales, Northern Ireland and even the far north of
00:50Scotland, plenty of dry and sunny weather to be had, albeit with just one or two
00:54showers to watch out for. Temperatures do look like there'll be a touchdown
00:58compared to Tuesday for many of us. Most places staying in single figures across
01:02the north. Further south we're looking at highs of around 12 or 13 Celsius. Through
01:08the end of the day and overnight we are going to stick with the cloudy skies
01:11across many northern parts, but the rain should gradually clear away, so turning
01:15largely dry here. Across the far north of Scotland we're going to have some clear
01:19skies, that will allow temperatures to dip quite low, could fall several degrees
01:23below freezing, so frost likely here. Elsewhere a few patches of fog are quite
01:28likely, some dry clear weather for a time, before then that system I mentioned
01:32earlier pushes its way in, so things will turn cloudier, wetter and windier from
01:37the southwest. As well as the unsettled weather, that system will lead to a rise
01:41in our temperatures, so particularly across central southwestern parts we are
01:46going to see temperatures rising as we go through the early hours of Thursday
01:49morning, further north and east, and like I said it could be quite chilly for some
01:53of us. As we go through Thursday morning itself then, a wet and windy story across
01:57many southern areas, likely to see some disruption, particularly on the roads as
02:01we go through the morning rush hour. Through the day we could see 30 to 40
02:05millimetres of rain in some places, and strong winds with gales in exposed spots
02:10too, hence why there will be some problems in some spots. However the worst
02:14of the wind and rain will clear away as we go through the afternoon, some showery
02:18outbreaks following in behind for many places, and some of these could be a
02:21little bit heavy at times, but across parts of Scotland in comparison to
02:25Wednesday, it is looking much drier and there should be some decent sunshine
02:29around too. Temperatures across Scotland though, looking similar to Wednesday, so
02:34most places staying in single figures, and further south temperatures down a
02:37little bit again, and with the cloudy wet and windy weather it will feel pretty
02:41unpleasant at times. There will be more outbreaks of rain to come as we go
02:46through Thursday evening, and still they could be quite heavy, though the worst of
02:50the rain will have cleared away, but watch out for some heavy bursts perhaps.
02:54However as we go into Friday we do have a bit of a ridge of high pressure again,
02:58so turning drier for a time doesn't last particularly long, more wet and windy
03:03weather then sweeping its way in from the west as we go into the weekend, so
03:06the unsettled pattern does return. We'll have more information about that in our
