00:00Hello, welcome to your latest update from the Met Office.
00:03There could be a little bit of fog forming
00:05through the nights, which could stick around
00:07on Tuesday morning.
00:08It may take a while to clear.
00:09For most of England and Wales, certainly, it'll be a dry day.
00:12There will be some rain across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
00:15And here, it's also going to be a pretty windy Tuesday, too.
00:18That's because areas of low pressure
00:20are gathering up to the northwest,
00:21squeezing the ice of Ireland together.
00:23But high pressure is dominating across the south.
00:26And that is actually squeezing the life out
00:28of this weakening weather front that's
00:30been slowly spreading southwards.
00:32It has been bringing some wet weather over Northern England
00:35and Wales, continuing to fizzle out,
00:37but some rain and drizzle over mid-Wales, South Wales,
00:39and the Midlands through the evening, and perhaps
00:41across parts of Devon and Cornwall, too.
00:43But for most, it's dry until we see further outbreaks of rain
00:47coming into the northwest.
00:48It will be a very windy night across the northwest,
00:50as well, with gales and places.
00:52But further south, the winds are light,
00:54which means where we see some breaks in the cloud,
00:56we could easily see some mist and fog patches,
00:58parts of the south Midlands, south-east England,
01:00and East Anglia, in particular, which could be quite dense,
01:03certainly for Tuesday morning.
01:05It will be a fairly chilly night across the south, as well.
01:07Temperatures, where we keep clear skies,
01:09well down into single figures.
01:11But pretty mild, with the winds picking up
01:13across the northern and the western isles.
01:15Likely to be the mildest spot as we start Tuesday.
01:18But it's also going to be fairly soggy here, outbreaks of rain,
01:21and that wet weather pepping up all along the west coast
01:24of Scotland during the morning.
01:26Otherwise, a mostly dry start.
01:27Could take a few hours for that fog to clear.
01:30And bar the odd light shower, most of England and Wales
01:32will be dry through the day.
01:34We will see a zone of rain pushing
01:35across Northern Ireland, central and southern Scotland.
01:38And that's likely to be followed by a fairly intense band
01:41of heavy showers.
01:42It won't last too long, but it could be pretty lively
01:44as that moves through, accompanied by blustery
01:47conditions, as well.
01:48It will be a fairly windy day across the north,
01:51and that will have an impact on the feel.
01:53Temperatures, though, still generally a little bit
01:54above average.
01:55And certainly in the south, we could, again,
01:57get into the teens, particularly if we see
01:59some brightness coming through.
02:01That area of rain will trickle south and, again,
02:03fizzle out across northern England and the Midlands.
02:05Showers will keep going on Tuesday night across the north,
02:08and they'll have a wintry flavour across the tops
02:11of the mountains in Scotland.
02:12Nothing unusual about that, of course,
02:13but we haven't seen much of it so far this autumn.
02:16And those wintry showers over the mountains
02:18will turn back to rain pretty rapidly through the day.
02:21We will see a few showers for southern Scotland,
02:23and later on, a bit more patchy rain
02:25pushes into northern Ireland.
02:26But again, bar the odd shower over northwest England,
02:29north Wales, most of England and Wales dry on Wednesday.
02:32And it's actually, for many, a bright day as well,
02:34with some sunshine.
02:36Once any morning mist and fog has cleared.
02:38It will be a little breezier, though, and a little cooler.
02:40Temperatures, though, still close to average
02:42for the time of year 10 or 11 Celsius, generally covering.
02:46Staying pretty mild throughout this week,
02:48in fact, with not much rain at all across the south,
02:51but often fairly windy, particularly in the north.
02:54A full week ahead video is available on YouTube,
02:57so make sure you.
