00:06We do have warnings in place, including an amber warning
00:09across parts of eastern Scotland.
00:11Low pressure is dominating.
00:12It zipped in through Wednesday night.
00:15So now it's kind of ground to a halt
00:16and is just crawling up the east coast,
00:18feeding in the winds from the North Sea,
00:20bringing moisture, heavy and persistent rain,
00:23particularly in this zone across parts of eastern Scotland.
00:26The rain really setting in through Thursday night
00:28and lasting for much of Friday,
00:30and that could cause some problems.
00:32So we do have this amber warning in place
00:34across parts of Aberdeenshire, Perth and Kinross and Angus,
00:38where we're likely to see 100 millimetres of rain,
00:41maybe as much as 150 millimetres over hills.
00:44That is likely to cause some flooding
00:46and create some dangerous, fast-flowing rivers.
00:50So we do have this amber warning in place,
00:52broader yellow warning covering much of eastern Scotland,
00:56yellow warning also in place until midnight further south
00:59across parts of England.
01:01Now, that rain here will start to ease
01:04as we go through the night,
01:05but still some heavier pulses during Thursday evening.
01:08The rain does, though, persist across eastern Scotland.
01:11Patchy rain for western parts of Scotland,
01:14northern and eastern parts of Northern Ireland,
01:15showers coming into northwest England,
01:17Wales and southwest England,
01:19something a bit drier across more central southern parts
01:22with some clearer spells.
01:24Temperatures will dip down into single figures,
01:27but mostly staying at about seven to nine Celsius
01:30with a lot of cloud around.
01:32That cloud and rain still in place
01:33then across eastern Scotland for much of Friday.
01:37Elsewhere, though, looking a bit drier
01:38for northeast England,
01:40east Anglia through the course of the day,
01:42a bit drier too for Wales,
01:43although still a few showers here.
01:45Some showers feeding into the east
01:47and north coast of Northern Ireland,
01:48but some decent spells of sunshine here,
01:50along with southern England,
01:52where much of the day will be dry and bright.
01:54It's quite gusty in places,
01:56very strong winds continuing to feed in
01:58across Aberdeenshire and the Northern Isles
02:01throughout the night and throughout Friday.
02:04Temperatures, well, again,
02:05we're going to be struggling
02:06to get much above nine or 10 Celsius
02:09where we've got that cloud and rain
02:10and feeling even cooler with that strong wind.
02:12Further south with a bit of brightness,
02:14we might squeak up to 11, 12,
02:16perhaps even 13 degrees Celsius.
02:18But temperatures will drop away on Friday night
02:20where we've got these clearing skies
02:22for Wales, southwest England, and Northern Ireland.
02:24The rain will be easing
02:26through the latter part of Friday across the northeast.
02:29Likely to see further outbreaks
02:31as we head into the weekend across these eastern areas,
02:34but with more cloud here,
02:35that does keep the temperatures up.
02:36But on Friday night,
02:38across, say, Wales, southwest England,
02:40and Northern Ireland, parts of southwest Scotland,
02:43so we could see a frost to start the weekend.
02:46So a chilly start here,
02:47but generally a bright start with some sunshine.
02:50Actually, much of the west will stay fine
02:52throughout the day, even further east.
02:54We'll have this line of cloud and some patchy rain,
02:57but nothing like as heavy or as persistent as it has been.
03:01Actually, the east coast may brighten up
03:03as we go through the day.
03:04Still quite windy in the northeast, but not as windy.
03:07But then the next line of rain is starting
03:09to edge into parts of Northern Ireland
03:11by the end of Saturday.
03:13Temperature-wise, again, quite a bit cooler
03:15than it has been, eight, nine, 10,
03:17maybe 11 Celsius with a little bit of brightness.
03:20But this line of rain will pack a bit of a punch
03:22as it creeps its way across the country
03:24during the course of Saturday night and into Sunday,
03:28bringing some heavy outbreaks of rain.
03:30The ice have all squeezing together as well,
03:31so suggesting it's also going to be fairly windy.
03:34Could be a fairly slow process
03:37to see that moving in across the country.
03:39A little area of low pressure
03:40perhaps developing for Sunday,
03:42keeping things fairly showery.
03:44So into the weekend, a chilly start
03:47with a frost for some.
03:48Many of us having a fine day on Saturday,
03:51but with some outbreaks of rain
03:52and windy conditions Saturday night,
03:54leading to plenty of showers for Sunday.
03:57As I said, there is a lot going on,
03:59so please do keep up to date.
