00:00Welcome along to what for most of us is a wet start to the weekend but generally
00:05the rain is shifting away and for many it'll brighten up a little bit as we go
00:09through Saturday. The reason for the rain not hard to spot is a huge area of low
00:14pressure out in the Atlantic. This will dominate our weather through the rest of
00:18the weekend as it edges closer. It's weather fronts are moving across right
00:23now and heading out into the North Sea but it will still still spiral bands of
00:28showers across the country as we head through tomorrow and the ice bar
00:32squeezing together as well so that tells us particularly in the south it's going to be quite windy on Sunday too.
00:37Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves however bring it back to the rest of
00:41today. These weather fronts currently making for a soggy start to Saturday.
00:44Some heavy bursts of rain especially in the southwest. A lot of spray and surface
00:49water on the roads here. Parts of the M4 and the M5. That heavier rain is migrating
00:54moving its way from west to east and clearing away. So Wales, southwest England,
00:58Midlands should brighten up before lunchtime. Northern and eastern England
01:02also cheering up although it may take most of the day before the rain
01:05completely clears from Norfolk and Kent. Scotland and Northern Ireland should
01:09also turn a little drier for a time but more showers coming in here through the
01:13afternoon particularly into western Scotland. Parts of the east may also brighten up.
01:17Quite windy across the Northern Isles and generally a pretty breezy day for
01:22most. That breeze will help to punch a few holes in the cloud and bring us a
01:25little bit of weak sunshine. But it's quite mild out. Temperatures with a bit of
01:30sunshine could easily reach 14, 15 maybe even 16 degrees Celsius. So quite mild
01:35although northern Scotland will stay in single figures here particularly where it stays
01:39fairly dank. There'll be more showers packing in across Scotland during this
01:43evening and for Northern Ireland. In fact for most places after some clearer weather
01:48for a time over England and Wales the showers return through the early hours
01:51blown along by a brisk wind. Notice there's the area of low pressure you can
01:56see it here and the winds in the south as I mentioned picking up through
02:00Saturday night and into Sunday. It all makes for a pretty mild start to Sunday
02:04double digits across much of the south. But it will be a blustery day again
02:09here particularly on the south coast and those winds will be bringing clouds and
02:14further showers. Now it's not going to rain all day. The rain will tend to come and go
02:18throughout. Something a bit drier in eastern Scotland maybe even a bit more
02:22sunshine poking out here. For Scotland the winds will probably be lighter on
02:25Sunday than Saturday but further south the winds will be a little stronger
02:29tomorrow. Temperatures again a touch above average getting into the teens
02:32across the south after that mild start. But it's not feeling all that mild if you're exposed to that
02:37gusty wind. As we go through Sunday evening we'll continue to see plenty of
02:41showers but into next week there are signs of high pressure heading in which
02:45should bring in something a bit drier for most of us. Don't forget if you're
02:50watching on YouTube to hit subscribe.
