00:00Hello again. The cold weather is going to continue as we go through much of this week
00:04and with that, many of us will see quite a bit of snow, but there'll also be a fair bit
00:08of winter sunshine around too. We have a number of warnings out at the moment. There's a snow
00:12and ice warning across parts of Scotland, which is valid all the way until Wednesday
00:16morning because of some snow showers that are feeding in from the north. Further south
00:19across Northern Ireland, Southern Scotland, Northern England and North Wales, there's
00:22an ice warning through Sunday night. That's because of some rain sleet and snow leading
00:26to some wet surfaces which will freeze as temperatures drop. And then in the southeast
00:31through the early hours of Monday morning, there's a snow warning because of some wet
00:34weather that's going to push in across the channel and could turn wintry as it pushes
00:38towards the southeast. Taking a look at the bigger picture and you can see why it's so
00:42cold with Arctic air plunging down from the north. But notice this weather system. It's
00:47this that's going to push its way across the channel as we go through Sunday night, bringing
00:51some unsettled weather. So taking a more detailed look and yes, there'll be some wind and rain
00:56for immediate southern coastal parts as we go through Sunday night. As this pushes towards
01:00the southeast, we are likely to see it turning a little bit to snow. Bit of uncertainty as
01:05to how much, if any, snow we'll see, but there's the potential that we could see two to five
01:09centimetres above 100 metres or so. And so there could be some difficult conditions first
01:14thing on Monday morning if you're heading out here. Elsewhere through the night, there
01:17will be some showery rain sleet or snow which could cause some icy patches. So some difficult
01:22driving conditions for quite a few places and snow showers continuing across parts of
01:26Scotland. Temperatures through Sunday night are going to take quite a drop. Even in the
01:30south, we're likely to see a few prone spots falling below freezing and further north across
01:35Scotland, temperatures could get into negative double figures. On Monday morning then we'll
01:40see the rain sleet and snow in the southeast quickly clearing away. Otherwise then there'll
01:44be some showers towards eastern parts of England and these could be a little bit wintry in
01:48nature. But it's across Scotland where we're going to see frequent showers. These readily
01:52falling as snow, perhaps a few of these reaching far northern parts of Northern Ireland too.
01:56Otherwise, for most, as we head into the afternoon, there'll be lots of dry sunny weather. Despite
02:01the sunshine though, it's going to be cold. Temperatures a little bit lower than on Sunday.
02:05Most places getting to highs in the mid single figures Celsius and some places staying below
02:09freezing. Little change as we go into the evening on Monday. So snow showers continuing
02:15across parts of Scotland. Elsewhere, lots of clear skies to start the night. But in
02:19the southwest, notice here some showery rain sleet and snow starting to push its way in.
02:23Again, a little bit of uncertainty as to how much snow there will be, but there is the
02:27potential that there could be some impactful snow as we go through the early hours of Tuesday
02:31morning. Temperatures on Monday night are going to be a little bit lower still compared
02:35to Sunday night. And so a widespread harsh frost for many places, though a touch milder
02:40towards the southwest where there'll be a bit more cloud. As we go through Tuesday itself
02:44then and again, we're going to see some snow showers across parts of Scotland, perhaps
02:48Northern Ireland too, though I think there'll be fewer than on Monday. Across northern
02:51parts of England and into the Midlands, there'll be largely dry and sunny skies. But in the
02:56south here, it's going to be a bit cloudier and there'll be some showery rain sleet and
03:00snow affecting immediate southern counties. Again, some uncertainty as to how much snow
03:04there will be and where it's going to fall. But there's the potential that this could
03:07cause some impact. So worth keeping up to date with the forecast here. Temperatures
03:12on Tuesday likely to be similar or perhaps even a touch lower compared to Monday. So
03:15a cold day, despite the fact that again, for many northern parts, there'll be quite
03:19a bit of winter sunshine around. There's more information on the full forecast, including
03:23details on the snow and those low temperatures and all our warnings on both the Met Office
03:28website, our app, and of course, our social media channels. See you later.
