00:00Hello. A couple of weather fronts have passed overhead through the night, meaning a fresher
00:05feel to today, but also many of us will see a bit more in the way of sunshine. There are
00:09those weather fronts zipping through, may have woken you up through the night as the
00:12wind suddenly picked up and they brought a short spell of heavy rain. But a couple of
00:17cold fronts introducing cooler air in from the northwest. High pressure, though, is building
00:23in behind and that high will bring most of us a fine day today. Those weather fronts
00:27quickly clearing away from the southeast. Won't be completely dry. We are going to continue
00:31to feed showers in this morning over parts of southern Scotland and Northern Ireland.
00:36The showers here should fade. I think we'll keep them going through the day over the Highlands,
00:40the Western Isles and the Northern Isles. Still pretty windy here also. Elsewhere, the
00:44winds certainly lighter than they have been for most of this week. A bit of a breeze blowing
00:48on some western coasts, but quite a bit of winter sunshine around. Temperatures, though,
00:52will be lower than yesterday, a fresher feel. These numbers fairly close to average for
00:57the time of year, but it was very mild yesterday. So you will probably notice that drop and
01:01you'll certainly notice a drop in temperatures through this evening. If you're heading out,
01:05it's getting quite cold quite quickly across the south. Further north, there'll be enough
01:09of a wind and there'll be more cloud filling in. Also bringing in more cloud and showers
01:14to parts of Scotland and particularly northern Scotland. Another approaching weather fronts
01:19and getting quite windy here once more through the night. So by morning time, the coldest
01:23conditions certainly across the south. There'll be some pockets of frost in rural spots,
01:28whereas further north, it will stay reasonably mild again, thanks to that cloud, wind and
01:32some outbreaks of rain, which will continue into Saturday. Rain at times over the northern
01:38half of Scotland, east coast, central belt and southern Scotland generally staying dry
01:43and elsewhere across the UK. It'll be a dry day on Saturday, more cloud perhaps than today,
01:48but still dry and bright. The wind will start to pick up once more, particularly in the
01:52west and especially in the northwest. So quite a breezy day for many, but the wind's
01:57coming up from the south. So bringing reasonably mild air will be up into double digits in
02:01one or two places. And so for many of us, it'll be milder still on Sunday and again
02:06for most a dry day. For more details on that, you can check out our weekend's weather forecast
