00:00Good morning. A bit of a drab start for many of us this morning, but some sparkling sunshine
00:06across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland. As well as a touch of frost, this little bump
00:10of high pressure is pushing away this low pressure. That's what brought the clouds and
00:15the rain for quite a few of us during Monday and Monday night. It's now moving away, but
00:20it is introducing cooler conditions across the country. Those cooler conditions have
00:25led to a frosty start across Scotland and Northern Ireland. The blanket of cloud, though,
00:29has kept the frost at bay for England and Wales. A fairly grey start, some drizzly conditions
00:34in eastern England, a brisk wind for a time along those North Sea coasts, but it's all
00:38tending to clear away. Apart from a few showers in the far northwest, much of Scotland and
00:43Northern Ireland just bright and fine through the day, and it cheers up nicely over northern
00:47England, a much brighter day across Wales. The parts southeast and east Anglia likely
00:52to stay mostly cloudy, though, well into the afternoon. The winds easing for many through
00:58the day, but they will pick up again tonight. But with light winds in the sunshine, temperatures
01:03close to average, but it is cooler certainly than yesterday across the south. Now, as I
01:08mentioned, it's the winds picking up in the northwest that we need to watch next. They're
01:12going to get pretty lively as we go through the night. There's also this band of rain.
01:16That's an active cold front that will swing steadily southwards and introduce the rain
01:21back into northern Scotland by morning. Away from that, though, most places having a dry
01:26night, and we'll see a reversal of fortunes in terms of temperatures. It'll be further
01:30south with the lighter winds and the clearer skies that we see some pockets of frost by
01:34Wednesday morning. Further north, that strengthening wind and a bit more cloud means temperatures
01:39in most places will stay above freezing. Those winds, though, will pack a punch during Wednesday,
01:46getting very gusty over Scotland. Spell of heavy rain swinging in as well. That'll sweep
01:51across Scotland and through northern Ireland during the day, and eventually we'll see some
01:56of that rain turning up in northern England by the end of Wednesday. Brighter skies will
02:01follow, but so will a whole host of heavy showers. Those showers turning wintry and
02:04those winds will be a big feature of the day right across Scotland and northern Ireland.
02:10Metoff is warning in place across the far north. Further south, it'll just turn a bit
02:13breezy. The cloud will increase after a bright and chilly start, but temperatures eventually
02:19getting up to double figures in most places. But this is, as I said, a cold front, so it
02:23reintroduces the colder air further north and feeling colder with the strength of the
02:28wind. The weather warnings in place then, so do keep up to date with those as we go
02:34through Tuesday. Best way to do that through the app or the websites. And of course, if
