00:00Welcome to your latest update from the Met Office.
00:02The storms have cleared away, not a lot of sunshine on offer
00:06though this Thursday.
00:06A lot of cloud around, but it is pretty mild.
00:09You can see that cloud's been moving in.
00:11There's further bands of it out in the Atlantic as well,
00:14and our weather will continue to feed in from the west
00:17for the next few days.
00:18Tucked in here, we call this a warm sector.
00:20That's where we've got the really mild air,
00:22but it is pretty cloudy conditions for most of the UK.
00:26And on these weather fronts, we do
00:27have some rain, a wet start across Scotland.
00:29That rain's pushing away, but further pulses of rain
00:32will come into Wales and northwest England
00:34this afternoon.
00:36Patchier, the rain elsewhere, some drizzly conditions,
00:39but a bit of brightness is possible.
00:41Cloud breaking up over parts of eastern England,
00:43and at times, north coast of Northern Ireland
00:45and into western Scotland, we may see a little bit
00:47of blue sky too.
00:48But for most of us, it's a grey Thursday.
00:51It is pretty mild, however.
00:53Temperatures getting into double digits,
00:55may even squeak into the teens in one or two locations.
00:58It's fairly breezy as well, though,
01:00and the brisk winds will continue
01:02to feed in quite a bit of cloud through the evening
01:04and overnight.
01:04Further rain to come for Wales and parts of northern England.
01:07And then we have this weather front,
01:09this line of heavier rain that swings in across northern
01:12Britain through the night and continues
01:14to track further south across England and Wales.
01:16So we'll all see a spell of rain.
01:18Could be quite heavy for a time, and the winds
01:20could start to gust up as that moves through.
01:22Once it has moved through, clearer skies will follow,
01:25but also colder air.
01:27Cold enough for some snow flurries
01:28across northern Scotland, mostly over the hills
01:30across central and southern Scotland.
01:32But further north could also turn icy
01:35as temperatures get down to freezing late in the night.
01:38For most of us, we'll start Friday
01:40between 3 and 5 Celsius, but still
01:42quite mild in the southeast.
01:43This weather front clearing away, though,
01:46probably before dawn across East Anglia and the southeast.
01:49So here too, we should wake up to sunny skies.
01:53And for many, Friday will be a bright and breezy day.
01:56More showers coming into western Scotland.
01:58Still some snow here over the hills,
02:00but mostly rain at lower levels.
02:02And for many, it's a fine day Friday.
02:05It's a dry, bright, some decent spells of sunshine.
02:08Still a bit breezy in the north, but nothing
02:10like the strong winds that we've seen earlier in the week.
02:12It will feel fresher compared to today.
02:15Today is very mild, however.
02:17And by tomorrow, we're just back close to average.
02:19Get in the sunshine, out of the wind.
02:21Shouldn't feel too bad at all, generally 5 to 10 degrees
02:24Celsius.
02:25Not much will change through Friday evening.
02:27We'll continue to feed some showers in here.
02:29And that's broadly the picture for the weekend.
02:31There'll be rain at times in the far northwest,
02:33but many areas looking pretty dry through this weekend.
02:37Aiden, we'll have a full weekend forecast for you on YouTube.
