00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Storm Isha bringing wet and windy weather to much of the U.K. through Sunday night and
00:08into Monday. This brought about by a very strong jet stream barrelling its way across
00:13the Atlantic, picking up Storm Isha over the past couple of days. Storm Isha then crosses
00:18the U.K., pushing away towards the north and the east through the early hours of Monday
00:21morning before we do see a very brief ridge of high pressure developing overnight and
00:26into the start of Tuesday. With Storm Isha, the Met Office have issued amber weather warnings
00:32due to the very strong winds we're going to see across the U.K., widely 50 to 60 miles
00:37an hour, perhaps as high as 80, maybe 90 across northern parts of Scotland, so a widely windy
00:42night with disruption likely. Back to Sunday afternoon though, and that heavy rain that
00:48we've seen already through the start of the day continues to push its way north and eastwards
00:52through this afternoon, turning particularly heavy over western parts of Wales, north-west
00:56England and across parts of Scotland too, where with some milder temperatures we could
01:00see some snow melting, which could exacerbate those flooding impacts across much of Scotland.
01:05A mild day though, widely across the U.K., maybe 12 or 13 degrees across the south, but
01:10with those strong southwesterly winds that'll take the edge off those temperatures. Rain
01:14continues to push its way north and eastwards later through Sunday, and that's when we see
01:18those winds really starting to pick up, widely 50 to 60 miles an hour across the U.K. and
01:24as previously mentioned, perhaps up to 90 miles an hour across parts of Scotland. The
01:28rain does eventually clear its way north and eastwards through the early hours of Monday
01:32morning, leaving some clearer spells, but still a milder night than we've seen over
01:35recent weeks, perhaps 6 or 7 degrees quite widely, maybe even 8 or 9 across the southeast.
01:41So Monday starts a very windy day, those winds will gradually start to ease a little through
01:46the morning, but it will still be a very blustery feeling day for most of us. Showers quite
01:50quickly pushing in from the west through the morning, these likely to turn quite heavy
01:54at times, particularly further north and west, and we could even see some snow across the
01:58hills of Scotland. There will still be some sunshine between those showers, particularly
02:02further south and the east, and those temperatures tomorrow likely to see around 10 or 11 degrees
02:08across the south, but with some strong northwesterly winds that'll take the edge off those temperatures.
02:14Through Monday evening, showers will gradually start to ease overnight and into the start
02:18of Tuesday, so perhaps a bit of a drier start to the day, although we could still see a
02:22bit of snow across the very far north of Scotland. So a brighter start to Tuesday, but it doesn't
02:26last long as the next system awaits in the wings through Tuesday, so find out more about
02:31that on our social media channels, and don't forget to subscribe to YouTube to never miss
02:35a weather update. Bye bye.
