00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest Met Office broadcast. A rather blustery Sunday afternoon
00:06to come, particularly across the north-west of the UK as weather fronts move in. And then
00:11we'll see this area of low pressure moving in across central parts of the UK as we head
00:15through Monday. It could give some localised flooding before it clears into Tuesday as
00:19we see this brief ridge of high pressure pass by. However, it will turn wet and windy into
00:24Wednesday across the north of Scotland. Met Office warnings for the wind already out for
00:30Wednesday. So stay tuned for more details on that through the week. Windy across Northern
00:35Ireland, central southern Scotland, north-west Scotland through the rest of the day. We could
00:39see gusts of 40 to 60 miles an hour, perhaps locally 70 to 80 combined with some heavy
00:45rain in places too could lead to some tricky travelling conditions. For the rest of the
00:49afternoon across England and Wales, drier and brighter. Best of the sunny spells will
00:53be across eastern areas. Quite a lot of high and medium level cloud across the UK, turning
00:59the skies rather hazy at times and those winds rather brisk for everyone. But coming in from
01:04the south, so temperatures above average for the time of year for many of us, generally
01:099 to 13 Celsius. But locally, we could see 15 or 16 Celsius across northern parts of
01:14Wales and northern Scotland, where we do see some drier, brighter interludes well above
01:19average for the time of year. As we move through into the evening time, the winds start
01:24to ease a little, but it stays blustery. Further showers moving into north-west Scotland. This
01:28band of rain just pushes a little further east and then starts to get stuck across parts
01:33of northern England, parts of Wales as we head into the early hours. To the south-east
01:38of this, turning quite murky across the rest of England and Wales. Some low cloud, but
01:42generally dry. Clearer skies across Scotland, Northern Ireland. A touch of frost is possible
01:47here by the end of the night and temperatures under the cloud further south, generally holding
01:52up above freezing, perhaps staying in double figures across south-west England. So a mild
01:58start to the day here on Monday, but rather grey. This rain, though, not going anywhere
02:03through the day. If anything, it starts to become heavier as we move through into the
02:07afternoon, particularly parts of Wales, northern England. So rain warning will come into force
02:12from the afternoon onwards across this part of the world. We could see some localised
02:16heavy downpours and also the risk of some wet snow over the highest ground here. So
02:21do take care if you are travelling through central parts of the UK. To the north of this,
02:27Northern Ireland, Scotland, a dry day. Plenty of sunny spells after that chilly start, remaining
02:31quite cloudy across the south and south-east of England. But there should be a few glimmers
02:37of brightness and where we see the brightness, we'll see temperatures lifting to around 13
02:41or 14 Celsius. Quite cold under the cloud and heavy rain for the central swathe of the
02:47UK. But Northern Ireland and Scotland will also be in the chilly air, but plenty of sunshine
02:53here to compensate. Through the evening and overnight, this rain gradually starts to pull
02:59away into the North Sea. Still some heavy bursts, leading to some localised flooding
03:04issues, this time perhaps transferring more to north-east England. Elsewhere, generally
03:08quite cloudy across England and Wales to take us into Tuesday morning. Glare skies
03:13across Scotland and Northern Ireland will lead to another frost. So there's quite a
03:17bit going on with the weather over the next few days. You can find out more information
03:21on our social media channels. See you again soon.
