00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest Met Office weather. It is all changed. We've moved from
00:05cold conditions to now mild, wet and windy. We can see that on the bigger picture. Outbreaks
00:11of rain and strong winds pushing through Saturday and then through Sunday into Monday. Storm
00:16Isha brings some very strong and damaging gusts of wind, some heavy rain. Met Office
00:20amber warnings in force for wind across much of the country as well. For Saturday, though,
00:26a lot of cloud across the UK. Outbreaks of rain pushing north and eastwards, though most
00:30places generally staying dry. Few glimmers of brightness possible still, perhaps across
00:34the far southeast, maybe also northeast Scotland. But for most, a rather cloudy, damp afternoon
00:40to come. And temperatures, well, on the face of it, higher than recent days. The wind's
00:44coming in from the south this time, so temperatures 7 to 9 Celsius generally, but still feeling
00:49quite chilly under that cloud, particularly across central and eastern areas. The wind's
00:53picking up as well, particularly as we move through the evening time as the rain starts
00:57to set in and becomes heavy. We could see some gales around the coast. This system pushes
01:02through. We could see the heavy rain combined with some snowmelt could lead to some localised
01:06flooding across parts of Scotland in particular. And then behind it, a mixture of clear spells
01:11and some blustery showers moving into the wind. These a little bit for a time, but then
01:16start to pick up again through Sunday. Temperatures generally holding up above freezing, so most
01:21places frost free to start Sunday with variable amounts of cloud, but already some heavy rain
01:26pushing across northern parts of England, which could lead to some localised flooding
01:30combined with some snowmelt. And then Storm Isha moves in. Outbreaks of rain across much
01:35of the country turning heavy, leading to some disruption. Surface spray on the roads, localised
01:40flooding, generally staying dry across parts of central, southern, south-eastern England
01:44until later on in the day. But the winds really start to pick up for everyone. We'll see gales
01:49across the country. Warnings for wind cover the whole of the UK through Sunday afternoon,
01:54evening and overnight into Monday. So taking a look at the temperatures, generally double
02:00figures, so above average for the time of year. But given the cloud, the rain, the strength
02:05of the winds, it will feel cooler than the numbers suggest, but milder than it has been
02:10of late. The heavy rain really ramps through as we push through Sunday evening. Widely
02:15gusts of 50 mph, 60, 70, 80 mph possible at exposed coastal areas. Amber warnings enforced
02:22across many parts of the UK. The rain clears as we head towards Monday morning. Blustery
02:27showers continue, but the winds remain strong for the Monday morning rush hour. So taking
02:32a look at the winds in more detail through Sunday evening, you can see the pinks on the
02:37chart covering much of the UK, indicating gusts around 50 mph. And then these darker
02:42shades, 60, 70 mph, are possible as we head through Sunday evening time. Then into the
02:48early hours, the centre of Esher could give some very strong and gusty winds across northern
02:53parts of Scotland, an area to watch. And then by the end of the night, we could see some
02:57very strong winds across the south-east of England before they tend to ease as we head
03:02through into Monday. So a very strong gusty period to come. We could see some damaging
03:07gusts of winds leading to power cuts in places, large branches, trees down, and it could lead
03:12to some travel disruption as well. So overall, Storm Esher is likely to bring some travel
03:18disruption through Sunday evening, overnight into the morning rush hour on Monday. Damaging
03:24gusts of winds, so do take care if you are travelling. Amber warnings for those winds
03:28right through into Monday morning and some dangerous coastal conditions, large waves
03:33too. So if you'd like more information, you can follow us on our YouTube channel. See
03:38you soon.
