00:00Good evening, it's going to be a much drier and brighter day for many of us on Friday
00:04but there is still some heavy rain to come through the rest of the evening. That's as
00:08we've got a weather front pushing eastwards across the country. It's sort of lingering
00:13across southern areas of Wales, the south-west and pushing into the midlands through the
00:17rest of the evening. We've also got this wrap-around feature that will be pushing some further
00:21rain back into the far north of Scotland. However, the most persistent rain will push
00:25into the midlands through the rest of the evening and we could see some water on the
00:29roads there. There is a warning for the next few hours. By tomorrow morning though it will
00:33be much drier as that front will clear into the North Sea. It could leave a bit of cloud
00:38around first thing across the far south-east but by and large it's going to be quite a
00:43clear and dry end to the night. Clearer than recent nights so it will be a little bit cooler
00:48but it's still going to be very mild for the time of year and actually it'll be a milder
00:52night than recently across Scotland. So, a mild start to the day, some sunshine to be
00:56had as well first thing. I think mostly across eastern areas of Scotland, central areas of
01:01England as well as the south-west seeing the best of the sunshine first thing. But as the
01:06afternoon progresses most areas will see some sunshine at least. It won't be entirely dry,
01:11there is a risk of showers particularly across the high ground parts of north-west England
01:15in particular seeing the greatest risk of some drizzly showers through the day. But
01:21in any of the sunshine it's going to feel very pleasant once again. We've got to 18
01:24degrees today and it will probably be a similarly mild day, not quite as warm but still highs
01:30of around 15 or 16 degrees in the south, closer to 13 or 14 further north. We do have a fresh
01:37northerly wind as well so it will be feeling a little bit cooler across the far northern
01:41isles. Three Friday evening is going to be a dry end to the day for most areas however
01:46notice the cloud will start to thicken across the west. That will probably bring some drizzly
01:50rain to the high ground of Wales as well as Devon and Cornwall, particularly across
01:55the coast. So a bit of a drizzly end to the day here but across the east it should stay
01:59dry through much of the night, plenty of clear spells as well. The air will be slightly fresher
02:04by Saturday morning so it will be a slightly cooler start but still frost free though coming
02:10quite close to freezing across some sheltered glens of the far north of Scotland. The cloud
02:15will continue to thicken from the west through Saturday so we do have some heavy rain to
02:19come Saturday evening but if you'd like more details on a full weekend forecast make sure
02:23you check out the weekend forecast with Alex Burkhill on YouTube. See you later.
