00:00Hello and welcome to a national morning weather update from the Met Office. It's
00:04going to be a largely dry day today but turning unsettled as we go through the
00:08weekend. So high pressure is going to be moving its way northwards, low pressure
00:12dominating through Saturday and Sunday. Still got a bit of a squeeze in the ice
00:16above as well so some windy conditions out there. But back to this morning we
00:20have got some showers across Northern Ireland, Northeastern England and also
00:25parts of Scotland where they could turn wintry mostly over the highest ground
00:29say 400 to 500 meters. Elsewhere the cloud is gradually going to break
00:33through the day especially through the afternoon and that will allow some
00:37welcome spring sunshine. But we will still hold on quite a lot of cloud
00:42we're getting winds coming up from the southeast so cloud lingering across
00:46eastern coasts and here underneath the cloud and the strong winds it is going
00:51to be feeling quite chilly. Further towards the south though underneath the
00:55sunshine highs of around 11 or 12 degrees and also some welcome sunshine
00:59across Northwestern Scotland. Cloud will gradually build as we go through the
01:05evening as well staying largely dry for most of us. Clearer spells again holding
01:10on across Northwestern Scotland but we'll also see some outbreaks of rain
01:13pushing up from the south so turning increasingly cloudy here and that will
01:18lead to quite a damp start. But it's still going to be breezy out there so
01:22temperatures holding up underneath the cloud and rain in the south but where we
01:26do see some clear skies are further towards north of Scotland we will see a
01:30touch of frost as well. So some bright skies to start across Northwestern
01:36Scotland some outbreaks of patchy rain as well but elsewhere turning cloudy
01:41with outbreaks of rain pushing their way across into Northern Ireland and
01:45northern parts with perhaps some brightness developing for a time into
01:49the afternoon but really many places still holding on to a lot of cloud and
01:53we still have got a strong east and southeasterly wind as well so especially
01:58on the hills turning increasingly gusty but otherwise temperatures really are
02:02going to be around average for the time of year but just feeling a little bit
02:06chilly especially along that eastern coast. If you want more details though
