00:00Good morning and happy first day of
00:02metrological spring. However,
00:03probably not feeling quite like it,
00:05especially in the north where you've
00:07possibly woken up to a touch of frost,
00:09but some bright skies as well
00:11compared to the West.
00:12So we've got outbreaks of rain
00:14pushing through and we have actually
00:16got a yellow rain warning in force.
00:18So if you are up early driving,
00:20be please take care of that.
00:22Maybe spray on the road surface
00:24water flooding as well,
00:26leading to some transport disruptions
00:27as we go through the morning.
00:29Then this cloud and rain is going to
00:31push its way north and eastwards,
00:33turning wintry over the highest
00:35ground of Wales and then more so
00:37across northern parts of England.
00:39Through the day behind that we've
00:40got blustery showers feeding in.
00:42Some of these are going to be heavy,
00:44containing the odd rumble of thunder,
00:46but you'll notice across Scotland
00:48and Northern Ireland.
00:49That's actually where we're going to
00:50see the best of the sunshine through
00:53Friday, turning a little bit hazy
00:54as we go through the afternoon.
00:56With a few showers at clicking
00:58Northern Western parts of Scotland.
01:01As for temperatures,
01:02then it is going to be feeling
01:04cold out there.
01:04We've got the strong winds coming
01:06through the cloud and rain.
01:08So when you factor all of that in,
01:10well, actually,
01:11temperatures are going to feel close
01:12to freezing for many of us through
01:14Friday and then as we go through
01:16the rest of the afternoon and evening
01:18time that band of rain is going to
01:20gradually push its way further towards
01:22the West, so turning wintry across
01:23the across parts of Scotland through
01:25the day and then behind it it's really
01:27it's really quite a messy picture
01:29with outbreaks of rain and showers.
01:31But you'll notice some clearer
01:33scales developing,
01:34especially for Western parts.
01:35So compared to this morning,
01:37actually it's going to be colder here
01:39with a touch of frost developing.
01:41So then temperatures.
01:42Well, it's going to be chilly
01:44underneath the clearest skies and
01:46generally ranging from close to freezing
01:48up to around two or four degrees.
01:50So chilly start out there for many of us,
01:53but again it is going to be a messy picture.
01:56Like I said, plenty of outbreaks
01:57of rain and showers will hold
01:59onto some brightness first thing,
02:01but cloud generally building
02:02through the day.
02:03So many of us probably seeing a little
02:06bit of rain or shower through the day
02:08as the temperatures ranging from
02:10around 6 in the North to 8 in the South.
02:13We're still holding on to a brisk wind,
02:15especially across the coastal areas,
02:17slightly lighter as we go inland.
02:19And then if we look ahead to Sunday,
02:21well, it looks like at the moment
02:24a drier picture.
