00:00Hello, very good day to you. Storm Agnes has now cleared away and so we are
00:03entering a quieter spell in our weather but it's going to be short-lived. That's
00:08because looking at the bigger picture you can see there are two areas of low
00:12pressure waiting out in the Atlantic and they're going to reach our shores as we
00:15go through the end of the day on Thursday. But for the here and now and as
00:18we go through the rest of the afternoon it's a largely dry picture across much
00:22of England, Wales and Scotland. Quite a cloudy blustery picture though and some
00:28heavy rain starting to push into western parts particularly affecting
00:31Northern Ireland as we go through the afternoon. Temperatures likely to reach
00:35highs around 19 perhaps 20 Celsius towards the east and southeast but with
00:39the blustery winds and quite a bit of cloud it's going to feel a bit cooler
00:42than that. Through the end of the day we're going to see some heavy bands of
00:46rain pushing their way eastwards. Notice a squally band of rain pushing across
00:50parts of Scotland and some heavy rain feeding up from the southwest across
00:54many parts of England and Wales. We could see some totals really building up.
00:58There's the potential for perhaps 40 to 50 millimetres of rain across some parts
01:02of South Wales which is why we do have a warning out here and with the fact that
01:06there could be some drains blocked due to the leaves blown around and the
01:10debris caused by storm Agnes there could be some localised flooding. Through the
01:15rest of the night then the heavy rain across England and Wales will continue
01:18to push its way eastwards. That band of rain does become narrower but we could
01:21still see some hefty rain in association with it. Behind it some clear
01:26skies developing and so away from the towns and cities we could see some
01:29places dropping into mid to high single figures so it could be a little bit
01:33chillier than some recent nights perhaps. Friday morning then a bit of rain in the
01:38southeast and that could be heavy but will quickly clear away so then turning
01:41much drier for many here. Meanwhile across Scotland and perhaps Northern
01:45Ireland a blustery picture, some strong winds and also a scattering of showers
01:50and some of these could be pretty heavy. Drier for England and Wales with some
01:53decent bright or sunny spells and temperatures on Friday likely to be a
01:57touch higher than Thursday with highs of around 21 possibly 22 Celsius so that is
02:01a bit above average for the time of year. The weather is going to quiet down a bit
02:05further as we go through the end of Friday that's because we have a ridge of
02:09high-pressure building from the south that does mean it's likely to be a
02:12chilly night Friday night into Saturday before then more wet weather approaches
02:16from the west and we are going to see a spell of rain as we go through the
02:19middle part of the weekend but that does clear through as we go into Sunday.
02:23So just to recap yes Saturday's likely to get off to a bit of a chilly start
02:27but then some further wet and windy weather arriving and all of that
02:31coincides with the highest tides of the season so there is the risk of a few
02:35coastal impacts particularly around Irish sea coastal parts. We'll have more
02:39information on the weekend forecast in our weekend weather video which Alex
02:43Deakin will be putting up on YouTube later otherwise you can keep up to date
02:47with the forecast across our social media bye-bye
