00:00Welcome to your national weather update.
00:02It is going to turn fresher again over the next day or so,
00:04but a pretty warm and humid feel for most of us
00:08during Wednesday.
00:09We're kind of between two weather fronts tucked in here,
00:11some pretty mild air.
00:12This rather active looking cloud on the satellite image
00:16has produced some fairly heavy bursts of rain
00:18that will continue to work its way in
00:20through the rest of the day across parts of Northern Ireland
00:22initially, then into Scotland, but also
00:24some heavier outbreaks possible across England and Wales.
00:27Much of eastern England staying dry through daylight hours,
00:30and it will turn drier in the northwest and drier
00:33for Northern Ireland too.
00:35It will also turn fresher here because this line of cloud
00:38and rain is a weather front, a cold front.
00:41So behind it, the air is cooler and fresher,
00:43but ahead of it, really quite warm and humid temperatures
00:46could get to 24 or 25.
00:47But with that humidity, some heavy outbreaks
00:49of rain likely across parts of East Midlands,
00:52more particularly up through Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
00:54Some downpours are possible.
00:56Very hit and miss, but nevertheless,
00:58some heavy rain is likely for a time
01:00through this afternoon and into the evening
01:02before it all tends to drift out into the North Sea.
01:05Down further south, however, that rain
01:07is likely to pep up overnight and could
01:10bring some welcome rain across East Anglia
01:12and the southeast for a time and linger into Thursday morning.
01:16For many, though, it'll turn clear overnight
01:18and we'll start to see more of us
01:20getting into that fresher air.
01:21So a more comfortable night, less humid,
01:24but still pretty warm and humid across East Anglia
01:27and the southeast with the cloud and the further outbreaks
01:30of rain, which are likely to still be around during Thursday.
01:32Still a bit of a question mark about exactly
01:34when that rain will pull away, but rain on and off
01:37across the far southeast well into Thursday morning.
01:41Elsewhere, we should see some sunny spells,
01:43a sprinkling of showers over northern England and Wales,
01:46but maybe some heavy ones developing
01:48across eastern Scotland, far northeast of England
01:50during the afternoon.
01:52Showers and a brisk breeze developing
01:54across the far northwest, but I think
01:56much of southwest Scotland, northern Ireland, Wales,
01:58southwest England, just dry and bright through much of Thursday
02:02with some sunny spells and brightening up
02:04after that early rain across East Anglia
02:05and the southeast as well.
02:07And that fresher fear will be quite noticeable,
02:09particularly across the east compared to today,
02:12much less humid with temperatures
02:15close to average.
02:16High teens across the north, low 20s further south.
02:19As we head into Thursday evening,
02:20not a great deal of change, perhaps the breeze
02:22picking up in the northwest.
02:23Few more showers moving in here.
02:25Any heavier showers over eastern Scotland, northeast England
02:28should fade away, many places dry and clear.
02:31But behind me, there's a bit more rain
02:33just waiting to push in as we go through into Friday.
02:37For more details on that and what
02:39may happen through the weekend and beyond,
02:41tune in to our 10-day trend.
02:43That'll be available on YouTube by Wednesday afternoon.
