00:00Hello, welcome to your national weather forecast.
00:03Most of us will have a dry day on Saturday,
00:05but by Sunday, there's the potential for a few thunderstorms
00:08to develop some heavy downpours on Friday night
00:11across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland,
00:13all pushing away to the north.
00:15One or two showers for Northern England and Wales,
00:17but a good part of the South and East
00:18just staying dry and fine,
00:20quite misty and murky in southern most counties of England
00:23and everywhere really quite warm and humid.
00:26Temperatures not really dropping below
00:28about 15 or 16 degrees in most towns and cities.
00:31So a humid start to a pretty sticky day on Saturday,
00:35more cloud around compared to Friday,
00:38certainly across England and Wales,
00:40but still bright and fine for most parts.
00:43There'll be a little bit of rain
00:44tracking its way across Scotland,
00:46but that should scoot through.
00:48One or two showers here and there.
00:50And particularly late in the day,
00:51we may see a heavy shower or two
00:53for Northern Ireland and Western Scotland,
00:55but for most places it'll be dry
00:57and it should get a bit brighter through the day.
00:59The cloud will tend to break,
01:01but even if it does stay cloudy,
01:03it is gonna be one of those really warm, bright, humid days
01:06where temperatures easily get into the mid-20s pretty widely
01:10and in the Southeast, 28,
01:11maybe even a little bit higher than that in one or two spots.
01:14It will be getting quite breezy in the Northwest.
01:16As I said, there is the possibility
01:18of one or two heavy afternoon and evening showers
01:21for Northern Ireland and Western Scotland,
01:23but they should tend to drift away.
01:25Most will be fine on Saturday evening,
01:27a balmy summer's evening
01:29leading into a pretty warm and humid night once more.
01:32Notice behind me though,
01:34something rather more threatening is looming.
01:37Before that arrives though,
01:38temperatures will again struggle
01:40to drop below about 16 or 17 degrees
01:43in many towns and cities.
01:44So again, pretty warm and humid to start Sunday.
01:47As we go through the day though,
01:48we are looking at the clouds spilling in from the West
01:51with heavy thundery outbreaks of rain
01:54likely to come in for Northern Ireland, Western Scotland,
01:56but later in the day, even across parts of England, Wales,
01:59some uncertainty about the timing
02:01of this band of heavy thundery rain as it comes in.
02:04Much of Eastern England probably staying dry through the day
02:07but really quite warm and humid.
02:10Again, feeling pretty sticky temperatures
02:12again in the high 20s, maybe even low 30s.
02:15But notice further West, temperatures not as high.
02:18This band of heavy thundery rain is a cold front.
02:22So as that pushes through,
02:24introducing more thundery showers,
02:26perhaps on Sunday evening over parts of the North,
02:29it will also be dropping the temperatures.
02:32So if we rewind,
02:34the warm and humid air is in place all weekend.
02:37But as that weather front moves through,
02:39cooler conditions arrive and fresher conditions,
02:42less humid air for Monday.
02:44But also as we go into next week,
02:46more weather fronts and more weather systems
02:47then come spiraling in,
02:49promising some further spells of wet and windy weather,
02:51particularly so in the North and the West.
02:54So a bit of a big change as we go into next week,
02:57the heat and humidity building this weekend
02:59but turning fresher for next week.
03:01Keep up to date with the latest forecast.
03:03Keep your eye on those storms,
03:05particularly so for Sunday.
03:07Best way to do that, of course,
03:08is to be following us across social media.
