00:00Hi there, there will be some drier and brighter weather at times over the next few days.
00:04It's not going to rain everywhere all the time, it's a very showery set up on Thursday
00:08and into Friday just as Wednesday has been and the showers on Wednesday, well they'll
00:13continue for a few hours into the evening across eastern parts and more especially the
00:18north and north west of Scotland and Northern Ireland we'll see showers continuing especially
00:23around coasts through the night.
00:24But otherwise inland for many showers disappearing, clear skies emerging and in urban areas temperatures
00:31staying at 10-13C in rural spots dipping into the single figures and for some sheltered
00:38parts of Scotland for example 3-6C so a bit of a chill in the air in places on Thursday
00:44morning but actually plenty of sunshine from the word go.
00:48It's the morning where we'll see the brightest weather essentially because quite quickly
00:54through the day showers will develop once again, these big towering cumulus clouds will
00:58form and the showers like Wednesday will be hit and miss.
01:03But it's across northern and eastern parts where we'll see the most frequent and heaviest
01:06downpours further west and south west a better chance of some drier and brighter interludes
01:12and actually not everyone will see showers, some places will escape them through the day.
01:16Where we do see some sunny spells in the south, 22-24C so pleasant enough with light winds.
01:22Further north we've got a bit more of a northwesterly breeze and so for the north of Scotland 12-15C
01:28not feeling particularly summer like especially with these showers coming through from time
01:31to time.
01:33Then into Thursday evening we're going to see those showers again fade away eventually
01:36but a few will continue across parts of southern Scotland and northern England into north Wales
01:40for example and some longer spells of rain perhaps forming across northern Ireland.
01:46But for many it is a clear night and temperatures once more falling into the single figures
01:51in some sheltered spots.
01:53So Friday starts dry, best of the sunshine will be across southern parts and for central
01:57parts of Scotland.
01:58In between some areas of showery rain affecting northern England into north Wales as well
02:03as northern Ireland and the showers will develop quite widely into the afternoon.
02:08But actually it's going to be another day of hit and miss downpours in between any showers
02:14and for some it's going to stay largely dry and bright through the day especially towards
02:18the south east of England.
02:20Thickening cloud arrives into northern Ireland by the end of Friday, a sign of things to
02:25come into the weekend because it's at this stage that the next area or areas of low pressure
02:32approach from the north west.
02:34Various weather fronts indicating various bands of rain to come along for Saturday.
02:39It's not going to rain everywhere all the time on Saturday and Sunday but there will
02:43be plenty of rain around.
02:45Expect rain but there could be some dry and brighter weather about at times as well.
02:51Northern Scotland faring well for some sunny spells in between showers.
02:55Southern parts seeing some sunshine before the rain arrives and then subsequently into
03:01Sunday showers replacing the rain across southern parts.
03:04It's central areas where we're going to see the heaviest and most persistent wet weather.
03:09More details on this and what's to come further ahead in the 10 day trend which you can find
03:15on the Met Office YouTube channel.
03:16Bye bye for now.
