00:00Hello again. It's been a fairly cloudy and damp start to the day for central and southern
00:05parts of the UK, but we are going to see some breaks developing in that cloud. You can see
00:10where we've had some quite heavy showers across southwest England and south Wales through
00:14this morning, but that is starting to drift its way to the south and you can see some
00:19clearer skies following in behind. So, as we go through the rest of Thursday afternoon,
00:24a slice of sunshine across many parts of the country today, but staying quite grey and
00:29cloudy across the south, with cloudier skies then returning to parts of Scotland where
00:34we will see the winds beginning to pick up here as well. Temperatures though on the face
00:38of it not too bad, 10 or 11 degrees across parts of Wales and the southwest of England
00:44through the afternoon where we see that sunshine, but elsewhere staying in single figures, probably
00:49feeling a bit cooler under that cloud. So, as we head through Thursday evening, we will
00:54start to see this wet and windy weather become more dominant across Scotland. Some gales
00:58for the northeast of Scotland, but that rain does tend to fizzle out after midnight as
01:03it drifts its way southwards. So, skies clouding over where you've seen the sunshine today,
01:08but where it's been cloudy through the day, skies will turn clearer overnight. So, a touch
01:12of frost across southern counties of England and south Wales by the time we get to tomorrow
01:16morning. Minus 2 or minus 3 possibly possible out in those more rural spots. You will need
01:22your scraper first thing tomorrow morning. Now, high pressure is dominating our weather,
01:27centred to the west of the UK, allowing the weather systems in the Atlantic to stay at
01:31bay. But we do have this cold front drifting southwards through the day on Friday and you
01:35can see the isobars are closer together, so that means we will see some stronger breezes
01:41down those North Sea coasts. So, this is that cold front bringing a few bits and pieces
01:45of rain through the day. Some heavy bursts at times, but fizzling out as it drifts its
01:49way further south across the United Kingdom. Brighter skies developing for Scotland, much
01:55of England into Wales through the afternoon, particularly across those northern and eastern
01:59areas. But we will see some showers feeding down those North Sea coasts, brought in on
02:04that keen northerly wind, so quite gusty at the coast and feeling quite chilly out here.
02:09But away from that, where we are a bit more sheltered from that breeze, again we could
02:13see highs of 11 or 12 Celsius. Through Friday evening then, we'll continue to see that weather
02:21front drifting its way away to the south. For many of us then, it's a mixture of some
02:25clouds, some clear spells and continuing to see that strong breeze and showers drifting
02:29into eastern areas. So, away from that, I think where we do see the skies clear, we
02:34could see some pockets of frost developing through the night. But I think the breeze
02:39in the east will hold those temperatures up a little bit further. Now, skipping ahead
02:44towards the weekend, we've got this big area of high pressure dominating our weather across
02:49the UK. It will bring a lot of cloud, but there will be some breaks in that cloud as
02:52well. And this is the temperature map, and you can see just that little bit of cold air
02:58drifting in across some southern areas. So, perhaps by Sunday and into the start of next
03:02week, it will turn a little bit colder across parts of England and Wales, but keeping somewhat
03:07milder and cloudier weather over towards Scotland and Northern Ireland. Of course, you can find
03:13out more on the weather for the week ahead on our social media channels, and I'll be
03:17back a little bit later on with an update. See you later. Bye bye.
