00:00Hello and welcome to a weather forecast from the Met Office and it's a fine and settled
00:05few days ahead. Plenty of blue skies and sunshine with high pressure in charge of our weather
00:11and it's not going anywhere very quickly. A few weather fronts just skirting around
00:15the top but it's here to stay throughout the course of the weekend with light winds.
00:20Through the rest of Friday, a lot of sunshine on the map through this afternoon. A few fair
00:25weather clouds will bubble up at times. It might just give the odd spittle spot of rain
00:29but you'll be dry for most places. A little bit cloudier with some wet weather across
00:33Shetland but with light winds for most places, it's a fine and sunny afternoon.
00:39Now these are the temperatures we should usually see at this stage in March in single figures
00:44across Scotland and low double digits across the rest of the UK. But these are the temperatures
00:50we're going to see through this afternoon. 18, 19 degrees in places, possibly around
00:57120 degrees somewhere through South East Wales through the Midlands down towards the
01:01London area. Exceptionally warm for this time of year but remember that sunshine is getting
01:06increasingly stronger. UV levels 3 or 4 does mean that you could burn so do take protection
01:13with you. As we head through the rest of this evening
01:16then we'll see plenty of fine and sunny weather. Any fair weather cloud melting away and then
01:21overnight it stays clear and dry. A little bit more of a breeze developing along the
01:25south east of England through that English Channel and we'll continue to see some thicker
01:29cloud and drizzle across the far north east of Scotland for Shetland. Under those clear
01:34skies though the nights are still relatively long so it will be a cold one with a touch
01:38of frost in a few spots. So big changes from daytime to night time temperatures.
01:44But we are compensated with a lot of sunshine first thing on Saturday morning. Another fine
01:48glorious start to the day. Any early morning mist or fog patches will clear away. We keep
01:54that keener breeze across the south east so it will stay a little bit fresher I think
01:57through the day here compared with today. But for most places once again it's a lovely
02:02afternoon a warm one at that. Temperatures widely getting into the mid to perhaps high
02:07teens in places. Still a little bit cloudy across the far north of Scotland but even
02:11here I'm hopeful we'll see a few brighter breaks developing from time to time.
02:17As we go through Saturday evening then much of the same we'll continue to see those fairly
02:21dry and settled conditions across the country. Plenty of late evening sunshine. We will start
02:27to see a little bit more low cloud drifting into the North Sea and that could plague some
02:31of these eastern coasts as we go through the overnight period into the start of Sunday.
02:36So a bit of a greyer start to the day here but for much of the day on Sunday we are looking
02:41at fine and sunny weather once again and for many those temperatures well maybe just a
02:45shade down but still pretty respectable for the time of year. Of course you can catch
02:50up with all the latest on our weather across our social media channels and I'll be back
02:54later with an update. Take care, bye bye.
